I use an Apple Shortcut to create notes in Karbon from an icon on my phone’s home screen, but it would be nice to be able to snap a photo at the client site and attach it to the note from my phone while I’m there.I could accomplish this by uploading the photo to the client’s file in OneDrive, snagging the link, and then passing it as input to the shortcut, but I would like to do something simpler and reliable for the people receiving and acting on the note in Triage.https://developers.karbonhq.com/api#operation/Notes_PostIn the documents I see that we can create HTML notes only. Am I understanding that properly?CC: @StuartK
Is it possible to move the work backwards in a template? We are a tax firm and sometimes when it gets to the preparer they discover they need one more document and instead of having the work sit at them while they wait for the client to respond ( which could be weeks ) they would like to move it to me so I can reach out to the client, but we can’t move it backwards without having to reset the automators .Has anyone figured out a way to do this or suggestions on how we can fix our problem?
Once a task is completed in a work flow - which has an automator set to change the work status to ‘completed’ - is there any way of alerting a colleague that is has been completed - sort of an automator that can email a colleague?
Well… to put it mildly 2020 has been quite a year!We are planning a series of webinars to review the year in accounting, and predict what lies ahead in 2021 and beyond. The biggest issues, trends, challenges, opportunities and recommendations. And we’d love to give you the chance to share your voice. If you’re interested in being included on our panel of firm owners and practitioners from around the globe, please let me know in the comments below by providing a few sentences on why you'd make an excellent panelist. This is a great chance to get in front of a worldwide audience, give your practice some exposure, and share your opinions and insight with others.Alternatively, if you have a particular topic or question that you’d like the panel to discuss, I’d love to hear that too!
I sometimes have clients emailing me attaching my staff on items I do not want them to be aware of. Or colleague will comment me on something and then they see my conversation with a client and I am unable to remove them from seeing the timeline. It would be helpful to be able to remove people from timeline without necessarily creating a separate new email. Is this possible?
Karbon Client tasks is great for us to get quicker and more consistence client responses for file request and feedback etc. As I am working with outside contractors service providers as well, which we currently using ClickUp to manage that part of the work, I am looking for way, if possible to for example to update or create a client task in Karbon based on certain triggers in ClickUP.Currently the Senior Client Manager, which is the user on Karbon, will manually trigger or update the Client task in Karbon, based on events/status in ClickUp.Don't know if this is something that is possible, or if possible just so complex to add that it is just better to do manual?
Does anyone else need a filter setting to remove inactive clients from your search view in Karbon? I would like the ability to turn this feature on and off. Most of the time I just want to see active clients, but occasionally I need to see an inactive client. If this is a feature you would also be interested in, please go to Help and Feedback - Have an idea that will make Karbon even better and request this feature. They really listen to your suggestions and try to add as many as possible.
Voting is now open in the AccountingWeb Software Awards, and we’d love some help from the Karbon Community to vote for Karbon in the practice management category. https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/software-awards/practice-managementIt takes literally 20-seconds… you just need to select Karbon, provide an email address and submit. Thank you!
A client sends an email which requires an action to both me and a work colleague.I save the email into task.I action the work required. In comments (blue section) I write “ Email has been actioned” so that I can look quickly at all emails within that task to see if they have been dealt with. The problem we have is that when I write a comment because the original email included a colleague she also gets a message showing my comments. How do I write internal comments which everyone can see but don’t have to be notified of. My colleague is complaining that her triage is being filled up with my one line comments.
I am trying to set up an automator that goes like this:If all the tasks in the section are above have the status completed, then update the status of tasks in this section to Cancelled.I have ensured that the work type settings have Cancelled selected as a task status, as below:But when I go to set up this automator in the work template, Cancelled is still not an option. Can anybody help with this?
Is anyone else having issues where searching for a work item in triage (e.g., trying to attach an email thread to a work item) doesn’t work? Most of the time I try to add an email to a work item the item doesn’t show up -- I just get a blank search area.I reached out to support and they acknowledged this is a problem on their end, but it’s been 3 weeks now and no resolution. This is crippling the highest value tool Karbon has to offer. As you can see, it’s not returning a ‘no results found for…’ message, rather, I get this:[Karbon Search Error]
All of my colleagues and I have email sharing turned on.If I add a second email address to a Contact, it automatically turns on sharing for that email address, for all of my colleagues, but not me.If I try and manually turn on email sharing for that email address, it doesn’t work (e.g. I refresh and it shows me as not sharing).Anybody else had that happen?

Our firm has a client where paint sub-contractors paint apartment units. The general contractor gets the bill from the subs and forwards that to us, we take the information and key it into QBO and our client’s vendor portal for invoice payment.I would like a little app that receives the information from the painters and spits out an import file for QBO and an import file for the vendor portal.Has anyone done something like this? Do you have this capability in-house or have you worked with a contractor to get something like this up and running?
We have work that we want to discuss in our team meetings. However, finding a way to create a list in ‘work’ filters is difficult. We did add a status of “staff meetings’ to work that we wanted to discuss BUT of course, that is messy. What do you do to create a filtered view of work as an agenda of sorts for meetings?
I was wondering if there is a way how to filter work items by roles, for example bookkeeper? I would like to have same view as when you filter all work by client manager role (which means you get work items assigned to CM and work items not currently assigned to CM).Is this possible? Thanks.
Does anyone know if there is a way to export the Colleague Utilization information such that time is exported in hours, like how it is visible in Karbon? When we export, all the time is in minutes… And my brain doesn’t work in minutes past 90 minutes - lol. vs exported:
