Microsoft Todo Integration

Is it possible to synchronise tasks with Microsoft Todo and add emails/notes/mentions from Triage to Microsoft Todo, a bit like you can add an email in Microsoft outlook to tasks/Todo?

Malicious email

Hi TeamI’m new to Karbon, so please advise if this has already been raised.We’re receiving a lot of spam email with malicious links. I don’t want to simply clear the email and have it sitting around for someone to inadvertently click on the link at a later date. Our current practice is to log into Outlook and permanently delete the email, then return to Karbon. It’s not an ideal workflow, and I’d love someone to explain a better way.

Why does the client task space display our internal Karbon work title?

We are finally beginning the process of integrating client tasks into some of our work. When we run tests, I can see that the client will have view of our internal work labeling when they go to check off their tasks. Our work labeling is not short nor sweet and I’d rather not field client questions asking what the work title means since we use shorthand to distinguish between work/department/timing, etc. I’d also love to not have to change our existing Karbon work labeling structure just to add client tasks to our toolbox. Has anyone found any workarounds? Cheers,Emily

Karbon Implementation

Hi Everyone - we are about to being our Karbon implementation and have been discussing how Karbon integrates with QBO for time and billing purposes. Our thought was to track and input time in Karbon then use the QB time integration to be able to actually do our billing in QBO. We are wondering if this is currently the best approach and if there are any best practices or pitfalls we should avoid here? We don’t necessarily bill according to the time but do track time on a project basis and plan to continue that in Karbon. We are a tax heavy firm but also have a lot of fixed fee monthly or quarterly billing. All our other accounting for our firm is already being done in QBO. We also use Ignition for proposals but may not use that integration at first. We were also curious of any overall tips or potential things to avoid as we work through out implementation to avoid any headaches down the road. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

OneDrive Connection

Last year, connecting our Tax work items to OneDrive was immensely helpful. However, when I went to do the same thing again this year, I can't get to the folders. Does anyone know if this is an issue on our firm’s end or Karbon’s? I can’t press the “<” button to open the folders, but I have confirmed that OneDrive is still connected to Karbon.

Individual Contact as Organization?

Does anyone have individual clients set up as organizations? We have been operating fine with them as a contact until our recent integration with SuiteFiles. “Contacts” do not sync externally from Karbon, but Orgs do. Before we go through the whole list of our individual tax playing clients and make them into identical existing organizations, I would love to know if anyone has knowledge regarding this. Would a contact having the same name as an organization present any workflow issues? Otherwise for context our current setup is:Individual tax client = Contact - “Client - Individual Tax” Joint tax clients (individually, i.e. First, Last) = Contact - “Client” Joint tax clients (joint) = Org - “Client - Joint Tax” (both contacts from above linked to this org and work done at this level) Businesses - Org - “Client - Business entity type” Client Groups are created for anyone with more than one organization and we put all orgs and contacts under client group for visibility of work items, as

Real estate tax retun referral — anyone intersted in a few extra tax clients?

Is it possible to keep an old users name on all past work, after name has been changed?

We use generic emails (office@ etc) which are used for our Users in Karbon. When an employee leaves, we will disconnect the user and related email. However, when we have a new employee start we will allocate them an email from a past employee. The user is then updated with the new employee’s name and details, using the existing email.This will then overwrite all of the past comments, work etc that had been allocated and completed by the past employee. Eg. “Jane” commented on 01/01/2021, will then change from “Jane” to the new name “David”. Is there a way to have the past name “Jane” remain on all the past work and comments, but all new work and comments be from “David”?

Create Work from Email is Missing

I just noticed it is no longer possible to Create Work from an email. Has anyone else noticed this or is this a system glitch?When selecting Add to Timeline previously there was an option under the Add To field to Create Work. This was super helpful. It is now missing.

Copy from a Template?

Would anyone else find it useful to be able to copy a section of a template to work items. This would be so helpful when updating existing work items. I put in a feature request for this. If you think this would be useful, please make a request as well. Requests can be submitted by going to Help and Feedback and choosing this.

Internal comments; linking to email

Hi EveryoneI am new to Karbon and in the process of exploring and figuring things out. Is there a way to action internal comments into an email to send to a client? For example, if I am having a discussion with my Employer and we and going back and forth with information that I would then want to send an email to the client. With the information from the conversation as a thread below, so we can keep track of what we need to send.

Emails not assigned to Work

I would like to generate a list of emails for the firm that have NOT been assigned to work to make sure nothing is falling through the cracks and that the team is assigning their emails as they should. Does anyone know of a way to do that?

When a client needs to confirm A or B... what's your work around??

Hi there, We need to send a client mailing asking them to confirm if there are any P11D benefits that need filing. So our client tasks are something like: Yes there are P11D benefits - here are the details. There are no P11D benefitsSo our clients will only complete one or the other task - never both. The problem is that the client ‘section’ isn’t completed - so the Automator on the next task won’t kick in.The only work around I can think of is to have the next task being something like: ‘complete the remaining client task above and add an internal not showing “N/A” ‘ and once we have completed the client task the Automator for the next section will be put to ‘ready to start’ and we can continue with the work.Anyone have any better ideas??
