Financial Statement Software -- Looking for suggestions

Hi Karbonites,I’m looking around for a software to help us streamline our financial statement preparation. We have played around with TenkeyATB, but there are a few red flags:The website lags pretty badly when doing regular activities. The saving operations are not straightforward and we have moved ahead without saving and lost progress. It’s way to easy to delete things like account groups, journal entries, etc. without warning or confirmation. The report writer is extremely basic and doesn’t link with the financial statement. Account numbers are required.I’m curious if anyone has found a software that:Imports data from QBO/Desktop/flat file Allows account grouping and re-classification. Book and tax JEs with good workpaper representations Financial Ratios Visually professional statement and report output Statement-linked report writer with notes library Cloud-native (preferred, but will go self-hosted if necessary) UltraTax line mapping and export (preferred but not required)Other so

Client Requests

Is there an option or setting we can use to leave client requests open after the work is closed? The reason is because we would like Karbon to be our main point of contact with clients which includes sending financial reports after the books are closed each month or each year, but also be able to mark the work item complete so it isn’t lingering in our “My Week” or open work items which skews our insights. When we mark the work complete and even ask to leave tasks as is, it closes out the client request and they cannot access. At this time, we are sending final statements via email, but it would be ideal for us to be able to keep all comms within the Karbon work item.

API Get work item budget

When using the Get Work Items endpoint, the budget estimate returns a value of “null” even when the work item has budgets set. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Malicious email

Hi TeamI’m new to Karbon, so please advise if this has already been raised.We’re receiving a lot of spam email with malicious links. I don’t want to simply clear the email and have it sitting around for someone to inadvertently click on the link at a later date. Our current practice is to log into Outlook and permanently delete the email, then return to Karbon. It’s not an ideal workflow, and I’d love someone to explain a better way.

Managing client emails

We’re looking for a way to better track client emails that need to be reviewed during the time of the month end close.We have one client that has multiple entities and sends a ton of emails. There are so many emails, this client even has their own inbox/user in Karbon. I will explain out current process in hopes that maybe there are better suggestions out there:I currently work on reviewing the clients emails. Each email gets assigned to the month-end close work item for the applicable entity - but there are a bunch of emails that get assigned to the month-end work item. Not ALL emails on the month-end work item need to be addressed by the accounting team during the month-end close. Currently, we have a group in Karbon of the 2 employees who work on this particular client. And whenever there’s an email that will be needed during the close-out, we tag that team in the comments - but unfortunately doing so floods the client teams triages. We’re looking for a better solution on how we can

Undo in email

When writing an email in Karbon if I want to undo I usually press Ctrl+Z. However, if I accidently paste an image, this function doesn’t work to bring back what the image pasted over. Is there anyways to undo data that was deleted due to an image paste?Ex. I selected my entire draft to copy, pressed Ctrl+C, but instead accidently pressed Ctrl+V, which pasted an image in it’s place. So I cannot seem to undo to get my entire email draft back.

How to edit Client Group(s) for a Work item

There are two issues:How can I add more than one Client Group to a Work item? I can have multiple Client Groups at the Contact level, but not at the Work item level? Once a Work item has been created, how can I edit/change the Client Group? Again, I can edit/change the Client Group at the Contact level, but not at the Work item level?

Time zones

When I drag work from my week to my calendar, the time zone used appears to be EST. That’s great for me, however, in Outlook it shows as Coordinated Universal time. If I edit that task in Outlook, I have to aware of this or it will shows in an odd time slot. Anyway to assure the time is always EST?

No receiving client checklist comments

Hi,Does anyone have issues with your firm not receiving client comments on Karbon checklist ? We have clients’ comments/info disappear and karbon did not update/notify us when client updated Karbon. Autoreminders would continue. We will only find out when client notify us or we send a follow up email. It is very random and frustrating for all parties. Is there something we can do ? Thank you.

Incorrect recurring due dates

I see others have posted about this issue over the last few years, but still don’t have a firm grasp on this… our recurring work often has its due dates slowly slip out of alignment with… reality. For example, over time, bookkeeping that both starts and is due for the month of January shows up 2 weeks before the work start date, with many work items and tasks already 5-25 days overdue. How does this happen, so we can stop whatever we are doing wrong? When it does happen, what is the repair of the existing recurring item (rather than starting all over again with a new recurring work item - losing all those great client-specific work items)?

Function of task type that can be set on created tasks

There is an option to add a task type to the tasks that was created under a work item. How exactly can that be currently utilized within Karbon? We tested to see if you add a task type to the task if it auto populates the suggested time entry the same as with client and work but it does not.

Client Request & Safari

UPDATED TO KNOWN ISSUE: I contacted support and they have identified an issue and are urgently working to resolve. Just an FYI in case others experience the same. Client attempted to open a client request via phone. Later in the office accessed from their Mac using Safari. They are receiving a blank/white Safari screen without the Click Here for a New Link message.Has anyone had any issues with Safari recently or know what might be causing the screen to be just blank rather than have the instructions for sending a new link?They have used Safari in the past with no issues.

Change Automators In Repeating Work

We are trying to change how some tasklist automators are set up for repeating work items. I checked Karbon’s website, and automators aren’t on the list of info that is carried forward to future work items. Is there a way to edit the automators on repeating work items so that future work items also reflect the change?
