Does anyone use work/tasks for internal projects? Do you add your firm as a “client”? So the work can be created?Example: if we had a repeating work card for invoicing clients, a junior internal team member compiles the completed client work into client invoices, and we have senior internal team member review before sending invoices to the clients. Would make sense to have this be a repeating “work card” so this can be tracked. And if one of the team members moves on their “tasks” can be reassigned. Does anyone handle internal work this way and if so do you make your firm a “client” for the section “who to bill to”?Does anyone do something different than make a “work” card for internal work?
One of our team members is not receiving all of his emails from his Outlook inbox to the Karbon Triage and we can't work out why.He has been receiving them just fine for quite a while and then recently noticed that there were a few emails from clients that have intermittently not been pushing across. Is anyone else having this problem?
I would like to be able to generate a list of a specific contact type, for example, a listing of all individual clients with their email addresses that I can then put in to a program like mailchimp so I can email to a specific group of client.Or generate a list of all the lawyers we deal with so we can send them something customized.
Is there anyway to do this in karbon as it’s rather annoying not being able to!Edited to add: This is for client emails - some don’t require client tasks but are still urgent enough to require the flag. The only way I’ve been able to get around this is sending through outlook but copying myself in so it’ll pull through into Karbon too for the client’s timeline.I’ve submitted this as an idea -
Can anyone help me with this? I’m getting a little frustrated.I guess what I’m trying to figure out is - when I take a basic template and customize it specifically for a client, and save the customized template… how do I update the repeating work to use that (new) customized template…. when originally I used the “standard” template - just to get the WORK in and repeating. Thanks,Cynthia
Hi all, I’m trying to review some team members’ productivity on tax returns. I’d like a report summarizing, for a given period:Team member Work completed Time budget Actual time I tried doing this using the Completed work filter. This doesnt work because ultimately all tax returns get assigned back to the admin team for signing and filing, so when they go into completed status they’re no longer assigned to the preparer. Am I missing how to do this?
Hi there, We need to send a client mailing asking them to confirm if there are any P11D benefits that need filing. So our client tasks are something like: Yes there are P11D benefits - here are the details. There are no P11D benefitsSo our clients will only complete one or the other task - never both. The problem is that the client ‘section’ isn’t completed - so the Automator on the next task won’t kick in.The only work around I can think of is to have the next task being something like: ‘complete the remaining client task above and add an internal not showing “N/A” ‘ and once we have completed the client task the Automator for the next section will be put to ‘ready to start’ and we can continue with the work.Anyone have any better ideas??
I am leaving notes like this for my Accounting Supervisor but when she goes to the task its not open like this it’s closed. Is there a better way to leave notes in the monthly task where it shows when you open the monthly task?
Might seem like a dumb question, but traditionally using other WIP management/timesheet systems, when time is allocated to a client or work, and then billed, the remainder is written off or carried forward. We’ve then reported on unbilled WIP periodically to account for any time that could be billed that hasn’t been. My question is, given Billing hasn’t rolled out in Karbon:Is there even a need to write-off WIP at all? How does one report on unbilled WIP? How do you keep track of ad hoc time not associated with work?
I'm familiar a bit with API, but I never worked with webhooks, can any share instructions on how to create one? Here is what I want to do, we have a database (Google sheet & Airtable) with all our clients, and it's intergraded with Poser BI, where we have multiple dashboards in Power BI. Currently, I need to update the database manually, and I'm looking to automate this through a webhook.Thank you
I’m racking my brains trying to work out how to make these work with our clients. They are not working as well as I'd hoped because:1) Client gets overwhelmed with a large volume of emails saying tasks have been updated but they can't see which one without opening all. We had a more effective process before using Trello.2) Can't copy multiple people in on the list. Can't share a list. Pain in the bum to duplicate a list. And of course, that risks two people actioning the same task. Clients expect to be copied into tasks I am setting their team members to action to make sure that I'm progressing their job. most of our clients are quite large so in 70%+ of our clients the ToDo list would go to muliple people - Co-Directors or A Manager and the Team Member. Client Tasks is THE main reason why I signed up to Karbon but they are just not working for me.Wondering how more experienced Karbonites are using this feature!
My team is new to Karbon. I have set up all of our clients and the primary contacts for each (usually the owner and an office manager). This is based on our old client database and my email contacts (imported from Gmail). I added my team to each organization as “other colleagues,” so that they can see communication, work etc for each of our company clients. We are running into an issue and I’m hoping there are solutions even though I can’t find any other topics that cover this: My People contacts are not visible to the rest of my team. The People contacts don’t have the same field to add colleagues, and I don’t see any setting where I can make my contacts universal.
Dear peers, I would like to understand your practice and logic of Karbon in managing access of the users to some certain change in key job management information.Facts:work assignee do not have experiences and authority to decide the start date and due date of a work. In my firm, manager decide who work on which work, and in what time frame. However, in Karbon, all users are able to change everything in a work setting, budget, fee, declines, starting date. It is becoming messy and lack of control/supervision and we cannot measure the result (say deadline meeting status) for each staff, since it is just one click for them to move the deadline or other information. I would like to understand how other peer firm is monitoring and controlling this? What is Karbon’s management logic behind this? I understand Karbon may encourage open and transparent work culture. But without saying dishonesty of team member, junior team member normally only does the work and have basic technical skills, but
Templates roll on the last day of the month to the next month. So any changes we make to a customers template during the current month replicates in the next month. We were told it does this on the last day of the month. Do you know if it’s the end of day on the last day of the month? I am trying to give my team a deadline to get them updated since it’s our first template rollover month. Also I am 99% sure of this. The work doesn’t have to be 100% signed off in a current month for the template to rollover right? My manager is worried if she doesn’t sign off on everything the template won’t roll. That can’t be the case because every client isn’t done every month every time. Thanks in advance for your information
