Budget - Retainer Fixed fee

What is the best option to utilize the Time/billing and Budget function of Karbon if we have our clients on fixed monthly retainers?Most of our services, even ad hoc, will be fixed fee to clients and our cost will be contractor, employee and other direct costs. Thanks!

Ability to select a specific email (not just a contact) when sending client tasks!

Many of our contacts have multiple email addresses, and some are appropriate when contacting them about personal matters, while others are appropriate for places that they work, etc.Following the 2.13.22 update, we are no longer able to select a specific email when sending client tasks---we can only select the contact! But this doesn’t allow us to be certain which email address associated with the contact the client task checklist will send to!No good!

BCC disabling functions

If I am BCC’d in an email I cannot ‘plan for this week’ or add to any timelines.Is there a way to get rid of this feature?We often BCC other staff in emails to clients as an FYI and there may be action items in there for them and they cannot do anything with the email.

Hi, Is there a way to store links to the clients reports that they can easily access through their portal? I’m also still trying to understand what they see on their portal and if we can access it? Is there a way to send those report links without sending an email?

MyWeek Best Practices

My week is very divisive, and each member of our firm has different levels of success when utilizing it. Do other firms allow employees to use their My Week in a way that makes the most sense to them, or monitor usage so it’s the same throughout the firm? Ex. Some people put all their work for Today in Working on Now while others take it a few tasks at a time. Only wondering because when you go to check colleague’s week or share tasks within a work item with someone, “working on now” can still be a gray area. Want to see if there’s a standard use for it common between firms that use karbon!

Print TO DO list or WORK List

Hello:Is there a way to print the TODO list without using the conventional browser print feature (it only prints what’s on the screen)? A way to export the list based on the filter to a PDF or EXCEL file would be helpful. Some of us need a sheet of paper to cross things off of! This would be helpful to have the feature in the WORK modulue as well. Thoughts??? js

Repeating notes

I would like the ability to pin a note to a work timeline that actually repeats along with the repeating work schedule. This would be useful for a background note for the work that doesn’t change, not actually a task.Does anyone else feel like this would be useful and do you have a workaround?

Internal work, do you make your firm a “billable client” to make Work cards?

Does anyone use work/tasks for internal projects? Do you add your firm as a “client”? So the work can be created?Example: if we had a repeating work card for invoicing clients, a junior internal team member compiles the completed client work into client invoices, and we have senior internal team member review before sending invoices to the clients. Would make sense to have this be a repeating “work card” so this can be tracked. And if one of the team members moves on their “tasks” can be reassigned. Does anyone handle internal work this way and if so do you make your firm a “client” for the section “who to bill to”?Does anyone do something different than make a “work” card for internal work?

I want to create a work view that shows the clients managed by a particular colleague. When I filter by Client Manager, it will not allow me to show the Kanban view by Client.Does anyone have any input for me.Thank you.

Staff Absences

How do others manage staff absences in Karbon ? Often these may be unexpected and with NO visibility over Triage of that staff member - I find it hard to manage emails or re direct to other team members

Managing Emails in Work Timelines

Hello all, question RE managing work and timelines. I’m finding it easy at times to miss e-mails in work timelines that actually need to be actioned during the work process. Particularly where there are multiple automatic e-mails and reminders it’s hard at times to pick out the important e-mails from the less important. I’ve tried the pinning option but find this is a few too many clicks when trying to sort triages and easily missed leading to important e-mails then not getting flagged. Is there a way others manage this that they could share, please?Thanks!Tom

Role and task types

When it comes to time charging against a specific work, the role available for selection in the drop down list should be limited to the role pre-set in the work. Same concept should be applied to the task types as well when charge the time to a work. This way will save time of staff to select from a long list with irelevant items, and most importantly, it will prevent staffs from mistakenly selecting wrong role etc.

Privacy for managers - advice needed!

We are going live tomorrow after using Karbon as managers for a few weeks. Our work has been bulk uploaded and the team will be trained tomorrow morning. I knew that everyone can see one another's to do list (which I would like to restrict ideally), but we’ve just realised that everyone can see each other’s notes and emails too, for example HR issues. How are you handling this? I assume via work items in hidden clients? Any advice appreciated, please!

red dot on Triage

Is it possible to turn the red dot that shows on the upper right corner on the Triage button on or off?I find that I’d like to have that red dot hidden. As when I’m working in Karbon sometimes it distracts me to see that red dot there and I feel compelled to click into the Triage when in fact it would be best if I would just stick to the task in front of me.
