Hi Everyone. A quick question regarding bookkeeping pricing. We are finding our current method inefficient, in terms of 1, actually calculating what the fee should be, and 2, trying to ensure the price is a true reflection of the work undertaken. We use GoProposal, and our fees are set up using the following line items:Invoice processing fee - Fee based on no. of invoices processed.Bank rec fee - A fee for reconciling the bank rec each month.VAT return fee - A fee for producing and submitting the return. Could anyone share how they price these services and any tips you have found when pricing bookkeeping? Thanks in advance.
We have clients with monthly Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) reporting PAYGW, but every 3rd month (last month in quarter) it is a Business Activity Statement (BAS) reporting both PAYGW for that month and GST for that quarter. Now i cannot set up a recurring job for the IAS alone, as the recurrance would be 2 months out of every 3 months. I have set up a monthly recurrance as all the team understand the third month is a different statement, however we charge some clients a different amount for the IAS and the BAS.Does anyone have a solution for this?
I’m aware when a contact or organization is set up with an email address, and someone emails from that address, that Karbon auto-tags with the contact or organization. We can have multiple people from an organization email us. The way we currently have things set up is the contact is associated with the organization but when they email in it doesn’t tag against the organization. I’d like to see it tagged to the organization because then it consolidates all communication under the organization. Especially because in almost all cases for bookkeeping, the work items are created under the organization, not the contact. I know that when you add a contacts email address under the organization, Karbon wants you to associate which is the primary for that email address - the contact or organization. So, i’m wondering if anyone has a best practice for that auto-tagging of the organization if an email address is associated with a contact. I’m finding I have to manually add the organization for cert
How do I add my clients contacts to Karbon so I can see who they work with and be able to contact them. For example, the insurance agent, banker, CPA, etc. I want to pull up a client and see all related contacts for them. But I have several cleints who use the same people so I want the contact to be able to be on all records for each client.
I have not been able to find a way to successfully do this yet - any tips and tricks are appreciated! I would like to send our checklist one task section at a time so as not to overwhelm clients. Has anyone encountered how to automate sending the next section to the client once the preceding section is complete? Thank you!
Has anyone been able to effectively use the #of day before work start date effectively when creating tasks? We find that the task does not show up in the To do list or now My Week until the Work Order start date. The task is overdue when the assignee actually gets notice of it. Is it me? What I am doing wrong? It seems like a great feature, a reminder to get something set up so the work is ready to go on the start day. A recent example is onboarding a new employee, there are some tasks to be completed by HR before the employees start date but the work order is set to be assigned to the receiving team on the start date, and it would be good for the receiving team to know that those tasks are complete. Our work around has been separate work orders but we muddy visibility.
Gmail will flag these emails with a very visual banner, like shown in this Google image search. With recent scam messages, Gmail will display this External senders message. The problem we are having is that none of this is visible within the Karbon interface. If we are not careful, we can easily mistake a message as real. We caught one recently that would have cost us thousands of dollars!!Is there a way to enable these messages within Karbon? What other security features can we lock down to make sure we don’t have any further possible issues?
Hey there,I am integrated with practice ignition and I would like every default work type to be set as a certain status under my “Ready To Work” master list. However, it only lets me select a master type (Planned, Ready To Wortk, etc.) but I would like my default starting work to be “Waiting to be prepared.” How do I do this?

I am trying to add an email from a client to a specific workflow, but when I click on the three dots and hit add to work Karbon only provides suggested workflows. I noticed these workflows are previous work items that I worked on. When I tried to search for the specific work item I had zero luck. My work around was to go to the workflow I wanted to add the email to, that way it was in my most recent, then add to work under suggestions. I feel that going to the work just so it’s in my recent definitely wastes a lot of time. It would be helpful to be able to search any work/client with Karbon. Just to add… Karbon does let me search work/clients but only finds a handful.
I’m racking my brains trying to work out how to make these work with our clients. They are not working as well as I'd hoped because:1) Client gets overwhelmed with a large volume of emails saying tasks have been updated but they can't see which one without opening all. We had a more effective process before using Trello.2) Can't copy multiple people in on the list. Can't share a list. Pain in the bum to duplicate a list. And of course, that risks two people actioning the same task. Clients expect to be copied into tasks I am setting their team members to action to make sure that I'm progressing their job. most of our clients are quite large so in 70%+ of our clients the ToDo list would go to muliple people - Co-Directors or A Manager and the Team Member. Client Tasks is THE main reason why I signed up to Karbon but they are just not working for me.Wondering how more experienced Karbonites are using this feature!
I am trying to set up an automator that goes like this:If all the tasks in the section are above have the status completed, then update the status of tasks in this section to Cancelled.I have ensured that the work type settings have Cancelled selected as a task status, as below:But when I go to set up this automator in the work template, Cancelled is still not an option. Can anybody help with this?
Can Karbon add the date range to any date range like what we can select in utilisation report in Karbon?Currently, we only has month to month for last 6 months, but if we do the performance tracking on a half-year or annual period, we to manual add up and calculate. This should be a simple thing for Karbon to improve. Thanks,Mike
I noted that Karbon can import office 365 contact. Before I try it, anyone has the experience of the contact syncing from office 365 for following questions? If I hit the button, will current existing contact in Karbon lost or replaced by the imported office 365 cotact? Or the imported office 365 contact will be added as additional contact? Is it possible to double-way syncing contact with office 365? ie, if I update any details of the contact or add a new contact in Karbon, it will be synced back to office 365?
