Question for everyone: Have you used the new Time & Budgets feature? If so, what's your experience been like?
As many, if not all, of you know we had a release for our Time & Budget feature where you can estimate and track time to jobs and people. If you’ve been using the feature, what has your experience with it been like?
I'm familiar a bit with API, but I never worked with webhooks, can any share instructions on how to create one? Here is what I want to do, we have a database (Google sheet & Airtable) with all our clients, and it's intergraded with Poser BI, where we have multiple dashboards in Power BI. Currently, I need to update the database manually, and I'm looking to automate this through a webhook.Thank you
Anyone know how this reminder works with different client request item due dates?I checked the help files and they do not seem to address if you have more different due dates for different client request items (we make the tax questionnaire due before the documents).Do the reminders go based on the earliest due date? What if there is a client request without a due date? The instructions in the blue box say to add due dates to all tasks. What happens if the due dates are within 7 days? Does the first reminder get skipped or just go to the back of the line?I will test this, but I’m curious if anyone knows so I can get my answer more quickly. 😊It would be cool to get clarity in the help docs, too @Aliesa Jackson. 😁
I cannot find this issue discussed anywhere else. When I paste a hyperlink in an email within Karbon, the link does NOT work when received by the recipient in Karbon. If the email is generated in Outlook with the link pasted in, then the link DOES work when received by recipient in Karbon. Is this a known issue and is there something I should be doing in Karbon to ensure that the recipient can open the link, without having to use the Outlook workaround?
Is anyone using the new billing feature in Karbon? We bill mostly by time not fixed fee still and finding it tricky to get the information - more than just the work title or the external item name on to the invoice. We plan to export invoices to QBO to manage debtors there so maybe we need to work on getting the integration there correct. Can anyone shed any light please?
Has anyone found a great way of encouraging certain employees away from using other email tools (Outlook, Gmail, etc)? There is the obvious “stop it or your fired” tactic, but I doubt any of us would like to be that threatening. I do have my own thoughts, but I am curious how the rest of you have coached through this.

Hi there!I’m new here to Karbon Community. I’m trying to figure out how to make a preferred email for a client be set as the default. Meaning, if a client has multiple emails saved in their details tab under their contact card, is there a way to make one email set as default? I tried playing around with it and it appears that Karbon’s settings are set as the first email you’ve entered in the client’s contact card is set as the default email and not being able to alternate the default email without erasing both the emails and re-entering them. (This is under the assumption that multiple emails are saved under the same contact card) Does anyone have tips or knowledge for this?
Hi Karbon,Would you please consider including a “Group Level” client information section, which flows through to all members of the group. Currently, we need to edit team members for each entity. The other information (notes, etc) flows through the timeline in the “Client Group” contact, which is awesome. However, if we need to change, for example, client team members, we need to do this for each entity, and also for the “Client Group” contact. This is necessary for “@team” purposes, etc. There may be “entity by entity” matters which needs to be changed at an entity level. That is ok, and I’m not suggesting changes in this regard.Perhaps there is a “Client Group” field/section which only triggers when an organisation or contact is linked into a Client Group. That way, any information changed in this “Client Group” Section flows through to all the other group entities and the “Client Group” contact.Cheers,
For semi-monthly and monthly payroll jobs that are due X number of days before the end of the month (depending on how they are processed, ie: Gusto, ADP) how are you working with Karbon’s limited settings to have accurate due dates so that Payrolls are not missed?Since the end of the month fluctuates (28/29/30/31) and the payrolls are due X number of days before the end of the month + avoiding weekends, there is not an accurate way to set up these types of Payroll jobs in Karbon so that the due dates are an accurate reflection of when the Payroll actually needs to be processed. This is causing us to occasionally miss payrolls, especially when our team has to fill in for other team members who are out and when they are not familiar with when the clients payroll needs to be run. What are your workarounds for recurring jobs that are due at/near the end of the month, but aren’t always due on the same day of the month? Aside from setting up each Payroll job individually (non-recurring) or ad
I was wondering if anyone has a best practice for setting up personal tax (Canadian T1) work for families. Do you have work setup for each tax return that is being prepared or one for a family? We find it easier to track them all if there’s one for each, but have always wondered if there’s a better way for a family. Thanks!Jeff
Hello I’m looking for a best practice clearing my triage. Tasks that are part of a recurring work and assigned to a colleague will come to me for questions. I can’t assign it to myself, nor add to my week and end up keeping these questions in my triage until I can address them. Is there a better way to handle this situation?
We now encourage a lot to use comments for internal communication. There is an indicator in the pane to show how many staff can see the message. But when I click that, I cannot see which staff has the visibility.I am wondering, what is the quickest way to do that in current version of KARBON? And quickest way to remove those staff who is not required to be notified. and I would be happy to see if this feature can be added directly to show the staff name when I click on the visibility number. I am wondering if other peer firm may have the same need.
I read the Karbon guide on client tasks, but it doesn’t mention where it draws the client email from when setting up a task to auto-send say, 1 day after start date.If it draws the email out of the contact relating to that work item, then this will be a problem, as the merge fields in the email will draw in the company or trust name the work item is under, and not the first name of the client. Can anyone help with this please?
Can anyone help me with this? I’m getting a little frustrated.I guess what I’m trying to figure out is - when I take a basic template and customize it specifically for a client, and save the customized template… how do I update the repeating work to use that (new) customized template…. when originally I used the “standard” template - just to get the WORK in and repeating. Thanks,Cynthia
