Hello I’m looking for a best practice clearing my triage. Tasks that are part of a recurring work and assigned to a colleague will come to me for questions. I can’t assign it to myself, nor add to my week and end up keeping these questions in my triage until I can address them. Is there a better way to handle this situation?
I was wondering if anyone has a best practice for setting up personal tax (Canadian T1) work for families. Do you have work setup for each tax return that is being prepared or one for a family? We find it easier to track them all if there’s one for each, but have always wondered if there’s a better way for a family. Thanks!Jeff
Can I have my Karbon account linked to more email addresses than one?We want to add a central firstname.lastname@example.org email address. Is there a way of linking my email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org accounts so I will receive emails for both accounts in my triage? Also, when sending emails out, could I pick which account I want it to be sent from?
The team is required to maintain their continuing education, for example QBO certifications. I feel like there needs to be a piece of work for each team member for their certification, but who is the client for that piece of work. If I create an internal client that the team has access to and can create work under, then all team members will have access to the emails/work for each other and their certifications. I’m not sure how I feel about that. There may also be other work that needs to be tracked that would go under that internal client.Does anyone have any ideas or can share how they are handling this?
Hello Karbon Community,I have a fairly new team member and am wonder if there is a way for me, as the admin, to set up auto sharing of his emails or is that a setting that only he can control. I am hoping that this is something that someone here has dealt with before. Thanks in advance.
I would like the ability to pin a note to a work timeline that actually repeats along with the repeating work schedule. This would be useful for a background note for the work that doesn’t change, not actually a task.Does anyone else feel like this would be useful and do you have a workaround?
For semi-monthly and monthly payroll jobs that are due X number of days before the end of the month (depending on how they are processed, ie: Gusto, ADP) how are you working with Karbon’s limited settings to have accurate due dates so that Payrolls are not missed?Since the end of the month fluctuates (28/29/30/31) and the payrolls are due X number of days before the end of the month + avoiding weekends, there is not an accurate way to set up these types of Payroll jobs in Karbon so that the due dates are an accurate reflection of when the Payroll actually needs to be processed. This is causing us to occasionally miss payrolls, especially when our team has to fill in for other team members who are out and when they are not familiar with when the clients payroll needs to be run. What are your workarounds for recurring jobs that are due at/near the end of the month, but aren’t always due on the same day of the month? Aside from setting up each Payroll job individually (non-recurring) or ad
I am training new team members so our standard operating procedures are quite detailed. For management accounts or year-end - I want them to run through a detailed checklist like so…. I have one test job open for management accounts and of course every task appears in my ToDo list which is horrifically overwhelming with just one job open!! I've created each of these checks as subtasks hoping they would not appear in the Work List but here they are! It will be unworkable if I roll this out. But if I set all the steps out in the notes - the person doing the job has nothing to check off and I have no way of knowing if they've considered every step without micromanaging the work. The only solution I can think of is to change the colour of the text of the steps actioned. But the visibility of that is lost when you come out of the task. I can of course opt for a much smaller list of headline tasks which would be much less overwhelming but then where do you put the detail of the SOP in a
Is there a way for my admin to manage my triage in box? (A pre-triage, if you will)? I would love to have my admin pair down my inbox for me…. In the same way that colleges can see “my week”, can I also set up the ability for my admin to toggle between my triage and their own? (this would also be great for expected team absences, such as vacations…)
When it comes to time charging against a specific work, the role available for selection in the drop down list should be limited to the role pre-set in the work. Same concept should be applied to the task types as well when charge the time to a work. This way will save time of staff to select from a long list with irelevant items, and most importantly, it will prevent staffs from mistakenly selecting wrong role etc.
Staff Training Platforms - LinkedIn Learning (formerly lynda.com)? Other platforms for standardized US Bookkeeping and Accounting Training?
I am starting a trial of LinkedIn Learning next week to see if it meets our needs, but I’m looking to give our staff a baselineIntentionAll staff trained the same way without drawing resources form existing staff members.RoadblocksIn the past, staff training is sometimes really good if we are organized and the people with the knowledge are available to train. Other times, we hire staff and are already behind on capacity, so the training isn’t handled well and new staff are left floundering.I’ve looked to the AICPA and other groups for standardized training for things like sales tax, bookkeeping, etc., but have come up empty handed. We will still do hands-on over-the-shoulder training, so no need to convince me of the importance of that. I’m curious if anyone has used and likes a standardized training platform or has any suggestions for how I might standardize my training without pulling away my highly skilled staff to train fundamental concepts.Other IdeasWe are also working to develop
We now encourage a lot to use comments for internal communication. There is an indicator in the pane to show how many staff can see the message. But when I click that, I cannot see which staff has the visibility.I am wondering, what is the quickest way to do that in current version of KARBON? And quickest way to remove those staff who is not required to be notified. and I would be happy to see if this feature can be added directly to show the staff name when I click on the visibility number. I am wondering if other peer firm may have the same need.
Hi all, I’ve created a job for a client and emailed the client tasks. The problem is that I discovered that the client email has changed. So I updated the client email against the client record and then realised I couldn’t see a way of changing the client details attached to the job to get the checklist resent to the new email. Sending a reminder only sends the list back to the original email regardless of the change to the client. Am I missing something? Is there some way of updating the email - I’ve had to delete the job, create a new job, and then send again to the correct address.
We are planning a review of our templates and looking to update as needed. Given that there are multple staff involved - it would be create if we could print or download templates into a spreadsheet and make our updates off line before adding online. Is there a way to print templates?
Hi all. So I’ve setup a client task, sent the email to the the client requesting information and then noticed a further query. I’ve now updated the client task with the new item. Do I need to resend the email or will the client see the new task automatically? TIA
