Any chance we can customize our Triage Task list? For example, we have Low Priority and Later, but I’d like to be able to organize tasks using the Getting Things Done method.Karbon aligns fairly well but not close enough. Can we gain some control over our Triage options? For example, changing “Low Priority” to “Waiting For” and/or creating a “Next Actions” list.It would be very helpful to Triaged items by context instead of by priority.
Hey Everyone, Our firm is having some difficulty determining where we should be looking to see outstanding work for our team. We are using some iteration of To-Do, My Week, and Work as each one of them some benefits as well as their shortfalls. To-DoThis is what we have everyone use as it has the ability to list all tasks at a granular level. Our work item set up isn’t task heavy. Anything that can be done in one sitting is listed as one task with multiple steps in the description. What we do not like about To-Do is that you cannot get a total time budget allocation for all tasks in a given time period nor is it guaranteed that they will all show up on the client profile as work completed for a client. Example would be small tasks that were assigned from emails and not attached to a work item are not visible as items that were completed for a client when we are assessing how much out of scope work we do for a client throughout the year. My Week We have not yet been confident enough in
All of my colleagues and I have email sharing turned on.If I add a second email address to a Contact, it automatically turns on sharing for that email address, for all of my colleagues, but not me.If I try and manually turn on email sharing for that email address, it doesn’t work (e.g. I refresh and it shows me as not sharing).Anybody else had that happen?
I am incredibly confused with how correspondence is saved to timelines. My understanding is that if an e-mail is received from a certain client (e.g. a corporate entity) it will only be automatically saved to the timeline if it is from the primary contact. There are other people that I send e-mails to in the organisation and I would have thought that their correspondence should be automatically saved to the organisation timeline, if I set them up as a contact? Apparently this is not the case and Karbon is designed like this on purpose but I don’t understand why? Therefore, it becomes a manual process to remember to save e-mails to timelines which is likely to lead to things being missed. Perhaps, I am missing something? Also, in addition, if you are looking at an entity timeline, is there a way to filter out the correspondence from a certain department that you don’t want to see?
Hello fellow Karbonites,With the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), I feel like our industry is on the verge of something incredible… like we have discovered the wheel but can’t quite figure out how to use it.I'm considering hosting a video call on Microsoft Teams to discuss the challenges and opportunities of integrating AI into accounting practices. The session aims to:Provide an introduction to the potential of AI in accounting. Discuss the challenges we face in harnessing this technology. Share real-world examples and insights. Offer resources for further exploration. If you have experience or if you know someone who would be a great guest speaker, let me know. I’d love to have time set aside for a few specific examples/demonstrations.Would anyone be interested in joining such a discussion? If yes, please comment below or send me a direct message. Also, if you have specific topics or questions you'd like to be addressed, feel free to share.
Hi All!When setting up templates & tasks with reoccurring jobs, if you update the tasks within the template does it update the reoccurring jobs? I thought I saw that if the tasks weren’t yet assigned within the job and you updated the template, the new tasks would flow through. Looking forward to hearing from the community.
I’m wondering when we will be able to have multiple email address to use in Karbon? My company has two divisions and we each have two email addresses. I know Karbon has talked about being able to manage several email boxes within one login, and I’m wondering when that is likely to happen? Thanks!
Hi everyone, I’ve come across this a few times now and wondered if anyone has a better solution. When a recurring work is being reassigned to another person (from the Repeats Settings), the tasks in the repeating work still remain with the previous account manager, how can I make sure it gets updated on both places without having to open all work and scroll down through the tasks and reassign?
We started with Karbon last year and are trying hard to make it the most efficient we can. One area I’m seriously rethinking is not having a separate work type for each month of bookkeeping. The challenge here is that when we have recurring months and clients have to upload their statements, we’ll go a few months getting none, then they’ll do a bunch at once which means the documents are tagged to the wrong work item. If we had all bookkeeping in one work item but each month as a task then even if they do catch up with their items, they’ll all go into one documents area. Has anyone tried this? Can you think of any drawbacks?
Is there an easy way to search a client group timeline for an email? I know I can do a general search of all of Karbon items, but is there a way to search in just the clients related to a single client group? Do we need to add all the correspondence to the client group timeline? Eg if I wrote to one of the Smiths about super but can’t remember who, I don’t want to have to search through every timeline for A Smith, B Smith, C Smith, etc, and searching for “super” in all Karbon items returns too many results.
Hi all,This might be a really basic question, with a really obvious answer.. but here it goes.I’m wanting allocate basic to do items to team members, for internal admin tasks etc.e..g Call bank to change our address etcIs there a simple way to do this without creating dummy jobs or other work arounds?
Is there a way to deactivate a client or contact when they are no longer a client? Ideally this would remove them as a choice from tagging emails to work items, maybe even exclude from search unless “show inactive” was selected.i do not want to delete the client or contact record because i want to keep the history.
Hey All -- hoping to solicit some feedback from the group from folks who have someone at their firm in a “project management” type role.In an ideal world, I would want someone to be the owner of all things Karbon and fill a project management / account management role to augment our client services team. For those of you who have someone in that role in a dedicated capacity, how do you define their day to day responsibilities? I have a general sense of what it might look like (see below) but for awhile now I have struggled with how to properly articulate the job description. A sample list of the representative responsibilities would be things like:Assigning workload / capacity management of team members’ work Monitoring and ensuring delivery of client deadlines Scheduling / planning new client work Oversight of Karbon hygiene (making sure due dates are set appropriately, statuses are being used appropriately, etc.)We are a team of 20+ and have used Karbon for a few years now.
