I need to send pay slips to both the admin of an organization each month, and individually to each employee. We send pay slips as attachments to client requests. Please can someone tell me - do I create the contact for each employee as part of the organization create the employees as individuals, not connected to the organisation?I don’t want the employees to be able to access the clients account.
I’m in the Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, USA area for a while and I was wondering if anyone else was nearby. Maybe we could get a little happy hour or something going. Is anyone nearby and interested in enjoying some good food and drink, and meeting each other in-person?
Hi, I am not sure if it is already implemented but is there a way to have the “Expenses” coded on a repeating work (Time and Budget section) be automatically coded on the next set of work just like the budgets? If not, is it possible in the future to have this feature?
My client wants to be able to view his client task which relates to payroll and timesheets/hours. He provides us in the comments the hours his staff has worked but wants to be able to go back and view his response.Once the Work Item has been completed, does this mean that he can’t access that anymore?I have created a test Work Item with Acme Corporation and noticed that when I communicate, the client doesn’t receive a new email with any additional comments. Is this the norm?

Hi there! I’m new to using Karbon, and I’m also a new business owner. I only offer payroll services through Gusto, and I am wondering if anyone has any advice on best practices for a client onboarding template related to onboarding a Gusto client? The onboarding template in Karbon’s library didn’t really apply. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Thank you!
Per this article: https://help.karbonhq.com/en/articles/6524704-kpi-table-and-column-names BUDGETED_COST The budgeted cost for a work item. is an available field in table: WORK_ITEM_DETAILSWhen I try and create a measure in that table, I can’t use the field BUDGETED_COST.Anybody know how to resolve?
When exporting the invoice data to CSV for QBO, I noticed that the Work headings (ie. “Monthly Accounting for Jan 2022”) would be prepopulated in the “ItemDescription” field, which would be imported into QBO as “Monthly Accounting for Jan 2022”.For my invoices, though, I like to have a narrative, like “Preparation of the Monthly Accounting for Jan 2022” or “Preparation of Sales Tax Return for Quarter 1” rather than an abrupt listing.Does anyone have a workaround? I know we can edit the description in the csv file, but I’d like to get it to streamlined.
Hello all! We are wanting to move towards use of the time, budgets and future billing features of karbon. When we moved to karbon a year ago we also moved to QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Time for our time and billing process. For various reasons billing in QuickBooks Online is not working well for us. The main reason we did not initially go with karbon for time was the lack of seeing and editing start and stop times, only having time duration. How do other firms work around this? It seems for DOL purposes that we should have a record of when an employee starts work and ends for the day and has a lunch break, etc. Do you use karbon timeclock for limited purposes and use another app for time for payroll, etc.? Or, am I missing something? Is there a workaround to track/notate the start and stop times? I think I need to show other managers in our firm the positives of having the time entered in karbon for productivity and budget measurement and planning purposes, but I will ne
I am comfortably creating and updating workitems using the API with some hacky python scripts, but I’m unable to get recipient data into the workitems for templates with client tasks-- the API includes a “ClientTaskRecipient” object and I feel comfortable assuming that its “ClientKey” field is the ContactKey and the “EmailAddress” field is the contact’s e-mail don’t know if I’m right; have no clue what to pass into the “LinkType” field and am having difficulty getting a response from support, for it. Perhaps a little niche but I would love whatever insight anyone may have Thanks!Mike
We have recently started using Karbon. The Work Templates are generally “Completed” by the admin team eg when returns are lodged We are wanting to report on how many Jobs were completed by the accountant who prepared the job and it doesn’t appear you can filter by a role. When use filters on completed and assignee it is listing the jobs as the role that completed/the Karbon job which is generally not the person who prepared the work. Anyone having this issue or have found a work around?
HI,We have some clients that we do their bookkeeping and we want to send them client requests. However, the email address associated with that client is one with our domain, and Karbon does not allow client requests to be sent to addresses with your own domain.I was wondering if you have the same issue and how you are getting around that. Thank you
How are other firms “cleaning up” their reoccurring work that is waiting on client requests? I have open work items for 9 months (Jan - Sep) that is waiting on statements of some sort from the client. They now have 9 different check-lists open and my dashboard is cluttered. How are you managing open work items?
We are just now looking at engaging Karbon. But, since the Liscio integration is really just a contact import as far as I understand it, how do some of you use the two applications. Liscio’s purpose is, in part, to get clients out of email which then takes the communication out of Karbon. But Liscio provides a mobile app, digital signatures and some other things I like, such as login storage for the client’s accounts.Does anyone have any good advice for a newbie to Karbon or do I just end up taking all of my client communications back to email?
Can someone explain to me about this “allocated” budget thing? See image below. So for Isabel, she ‘s got 5h assigned in work items assigned to her. ok. But for Haley, what the heck is she budgeted for for the month? There are 61.5 hours of “work items” with her name on them, but what about the tasks in those work items that she doesn’t do? Like if she “owns” the month-end close, but a bookkeeper and reviewer do some of the tasks inside of the close work item, does she still have all of those budget hours assigned to her? Which makes no sense, because she’s not doing those hours. And what is this allocated? Is this additional time assigned to her on top of the 61.5? Maybe it’s say, review hours inside of someone else’s close work item?Shouldn’t there be a straightforward way to see how many hours Haley is budgeted to work for the month?
