I have close to 200,000 cleared emails now! My Outlook mailbox is starting to get full and now I have a question I never thought I would have to worry about. If I delete the emails from the Archive folder in Outlook do I lose them in Karbon?If so, what is the fix to lower my usage in Outlook?
I currently use to-dos mainly to track email follow up, as there is no time and billing for to-dos. That leads me to how to best setup ad-hoc work. For example, client emails me and want me to find an old lease document. I want to bill for this, so it will have to be a work item. Do people recommend:Using an ad-hoc project with no tasks to track the work and remember to bill at that end of the work, or Do you have a generic work item where there are vanilla type tasks may not always be on point, but they help keep work on track.Thank, Tom
So… I am wondering if I accidentally changed a setting in Karbon. It used to be, when I used the filters in Karbon, let’s say I filtered by a specific client, to see all the work items for the client. If I selected a work item to look at the details, I could go back to the work section with my filter still active (I could still see all the work for that specific client). NOW, when I do this, my filter disappears and I have to filter all over again, it’s frustrating and wasting so much timeOddly, if I use one of my saved views, select a work item, look at it, and go back out to work, my filter is still there. It seems in the past few months, it has been like this. But, it did this once before, and then it went back to saving my filters when I went in and out, and now it’s back to not saving the filter. Not sure if it’s a cache issue, or Karbon doesn’t keep the filter anymore if you go somewhere else and come back unless it’s a saved view. But I don’t like this and hope there is a wa
Hi everyoneI wanted to ask how others handle re-assigning Works please.We are changing our workflow so that the Work reassigns using automators once someone completes their section.(based on valued advice from the Community :-)However, if the last person the work is assigned to is say me and it stays that way once the work is complete, then will the next repeat also be assigned to me, rather than to the first person in the cycle?Do we need to put in an automator at the beginning of the Work to ensure it is assigned to the right person? Or to do that at the end of the previous Work so that the repeat picks up the right person to start the Work?Would appreciate your thoughts.Thanks!Rob
I use an Apple Shortcut to create notes in Karbon from an icon on my phone’s home screen, but it would be nice to be able to snap a photo at the client site and attach it to the note from my phone while I’m there.I could accomplish this by uploading the photo to the client’s file in OneDrive, snagging the link, and then passing it as input to the shortcut, but I would like to do something simpler and reliable for the people receiving and acting on the note in Triage.https://developers.karbonhq.com/api#operation/Notes_PostIn the documents I see that we can create HTML notes only. Hello I’m looking for a best practice clearing my triage. Tasks that are part of a recurring work and assigned to a colleague will come to me for questions. I can’t assign it to myself, nor add to my week and end up keeping these questions in my triage until I can address them. Is there a better way to handle this situation?
There is a video I would like to send to a client about the new portal access. It says you can send a copy, but how do you get a link to send it? Is it just the help article link? What is the best practice to manage balance sheet recon work? Process; Balance Sheet Recon is prepared by Staff, approved by a Manager -- both in house. Is this 1 task in the work that is assigned to the staff member, then reassigns to the manager and update the status to awaiting approval?Or two tasks so the staff member can mark each recon complete & the manager has to monitor the work to know what is ready to review?
Hi allProbably user error but, as we work through our 2022 annual accounts jobs I am setting them up as a recurring annual job, all repeating in May 2022, and the Create Work date is 3 months before it starts. The reasoning being 1st February next year we can spend some time planning for when to schedule these jobs in and then move the due dates as appropriate. The problem is. as we have finished the 2022 jobs, I have a heap that have already gone and created themsevles. I can go into those jobs, look at the repeat, it def says starts 1 May, create work 3 months before it starts, create tasks 1 day before it starts, yet there are all these 2023 jobs on our annuals list. So frustrating. I know I could set the filter to try and exclude jobs starting after 1st February 2023 but my question is why are the jobs creating now and ignoring the instructions?
I need to send pay slips to both the admin of an organization each month, and individually to each employee. We send pay slips as attachments to client requests. Please can someone tell me - do I create the contact for each employee as part of the organization create the employees as individuals, not connected to the organisation?I don’t want the employees to be able to access the clients account.

Hi, I am not sure if it is already implemented but is there a way to have the “Expenses” coded on a repeating work (Time and Budget section) be automatically coded on the next set of work just like the budgets? If not, is it possible in the future to have this feature?
My client wants to be able to view his client task which relates to payroll and timesheets/hours. He provides us in the comments the hours his staff has worked but wants to be able to go back and view his response.Once the Work Item has been completed, does this mean that he can’t access that anymore?I have created a test Work Item with Acme Corporation and noticed that when I communicate, the client doesn’t receive a new email with any additional comments. Is this the norm?
