OK! You may have heard of the Accounting Leaders Podcast? Or you may not have. Doesn’t matter! Recurring events in My Week
I really need you to fix how My Week handles recurring events in Google Calendar.If I edit a recurring event in Google Calendar, My Weeks creates a duplicate: the original and the edited version. This should not happen. If I delete an instance of a recurring event in My Week and select “All events,” i have to “Sign In With Google” again. This should not happen. If I delete the recurring event in Google Calendar, the My Week events—original and duplicated—remain. This should not happen. Once I’ve signed in with Google again, only the single occurrence—not the entire series—I clicked on is deleted. This should not happen, and it is—as far as I can tell—impossible to fully delete all instances of a recurring event.All these errors make for a very cluttered and frustrating My Week calendar integration experience. Something is off in the integration, and it has been for months now.
Budgets in Repeats
If a work item is created and you forget to add the budget before setting up the repeat period, why won’t Karbon update the budget when you edit the repeat? I’m finding that whenever I go to edit to add the budget estimate, it will not carry over. The only thing that carries over is time worked on the task. Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong if so? Comments on a section with multiple tasks
Hi,We had clients complaining that when they receive an email that they have comments, they are not able to see which of the tasks has the new comment, they need to check each of them to see where it is. I’m wondering if any of you have the same issue and you go about it. Thank you
Is there a way to bulk-assign new employee previously-created work?
I’ve just brought on a new tax preparer and have him set up in Karbon. However, I have about 100+ clients that have already signed engagement letters via Ignition and have those work templates already created with me as the preparer. Is there a way to quickly bulk assign a bunch of them to him? (Updating the work template should fix it going forward, but looking to avoid manually assigning each client to him)
Triage Search Not Working
Is anyone else having issues where searching for a work item in triage (e.g., trying to attach an email thread to a work item) doesn’t work? Most of the time I try to add an email to a work item the item doesn’t show up -- I just get a blank search area.I reached out to support and they acknowledged this is a problem on their end, but it’s been 3 weeks now and no resolution. This is crippling the highest value tool Karbon has to offer.As you can see, it’s not returning a ‘no results found for…’ message, rather, I get this:[Karbon Search Error]

I currently use to-dos mainly to track email follow up, as there is no time and billing for to-dos. That leads me to how to best setup ad-hoc work. For example, client emails me and want me to find an old lease document. I want to bill for this, so it will have to be a work item. Do people recommend:Using an ad-hoc project with no tasks to track the work and remember to bill at that end of the work, or Do you have a generic work item where there are vanilla type tasks may not always be on point, but they help keep work on track.Thank, Tom
Upload documents when creating a note via API?
I use an Apple Shortcut to create notes in Karbon from an icon on my phone’s home screen, but it would be nice to be able to snap a photo at the client site and attach it to the note from my phone while I’m there.I could accomplish this by uploading the photo to the client’s file in OneDrive, snagging the link, and then passing it as input to the shortcut, but I would like to do something simpler and reliable for the people receiving and acting on the note in Triage.https://developers.karbonhq.com/api#operation/Notes_PostIn the documents I see that we can create HTML notes only. Can I Delete Archived Emails in Outlook
I have close to 200,000 cleared emails now! My Outlook mailbox is starting to get full and now I have a question I never thought I would have to worry about. If I delete the emails from the Archive folder in Outlook do I lose them in Karbon?If so, what is the fix to lower my usage in Outlook?
Work Filter clearing when I leave and come back (driving me CRAZY)
So… I am wondering if I accidentally changed a setting in Karbon. It used to be, when I used the filters in Karbon, let’s say I filtered by a specific client, to see all the work items for the client. If I selected a work item to look at the details, I could go back to the work section with my filter still active (I could still see all the work for that specific client). NOW, when I do this, my filter disappears and I have to filter all over again, it’s frustrating and wasting so much timeOddly, if I use one of my saved views, select a work item, look at it, and go back out to work, my filter is still there. It seems in the past few months, it has been like this. But, it did this once before, and then it went back to saving my filters when I went in and out, and now it’s back to not saving the filter. Not sure if it’s a cache issue, or Karbon doesn’t keep the filter anymore if you go somewhere else and come back unless it’s a saved view. But I don’t like this and hope there is a wa
Task assigned to someone else
Hello I’m looking for a best practice clearing my triage. Tasks that are part of a recurring work and assigned to a colleague will come to me for questions. I can’t assign it to myself, nor add to my week and end up keeping these questions in my triage until I can address them. Is there a better way to handle this situation?
How do I get a copy of this video to my clients?
There is a video I would like to send to a client about the new portal access. It says you can send a copy, but how do you get a link to send it? Is it just the help article link?
