How do we make our default work status "Planned" rather than Ready to Start? In Automaters I have set a new task status to Planned when created, and have turned off the automator that changes work from Planned to In Progress when it reaches its start date. But new created jobs just start as Ready to Start.
Hello Fellow Peers! So far we have only lightly started using My Week, but will need to be fully experienced in using My Week by the end of the year. Now that I am really digging into it, I’m curious if everyone else who is using it more already has the answers:Is there a way to filter My Week to show completed Notes and Work? There is no quick way to see if they are completed without clicking on them. When the To-Do list goes away, how will we know something has been moved to Done (by accident) if it hasn’t been completed yet? What happens in situations where the Work is assigned to you, but then you also have a task assigned to you within that Work? If you mark the task complete, the whole thing in My Week will then show that all your task are complete, and if you aren’t paying attention, might move the whole thing to Done even though there are a bunch of open task. I think maybe the most obvious answer is to to either have all your tasks assigned to you, or none of them (conside
I am leaving notes like this for my Accounting Supervisor but when she goes to the task its not open like this it’s closed. Is there a better way to leave notes in the monthly task where it shows when you open the monthly task?
Good day,I wanted to find out if anybody knows the estimated date when the new billing feature of Karbon will be released? I have gradually switched over my firm to capture time on KarbonHQ and fully switched over from Xero Practice Manager on the 1st of August. As I understand, the release will be in August but a more accurate date will be much appreciated for planning. Regards!
Hi, I see on the Karbon release notes that Calendar Integration has launched? But I can;t see anywhere in myweek to ‘Connect to Calendat’It takes less than 30 seconds to set up the integration. Simply navigate to My Week and click on ‘Connect calendar’ and sign in to your calendar provider. Am I just jumping the gun or do I have to do anything to activate this feature? Thanks
Has anyone in the Karbon Community figured out a good method of sending a KBA encrypted 8879 via the Karbon client task? The firm I work for is finds the client task function very useful, and like most, we are trying to find ways to streamline our procedures and limit our tech stack when able. Any thoughts???
My week is very divisive, and each member of our firm has different levels of success when utilizing it. Do other firms allow employees to use their My Week in a way that makes the most sense to them, or monitor usage so it’s the same throughout the firm? Ex. Some people put all their work for Today in Working on Now while others take it a few tasks at a time. Only wondering because when you go to check colleague’s week or share tasks within a work item with someone, “working on now” can still be a gray area. Want to see if there’s a standard use for it common between firms that use karbon!
What are some best practices for OneDrive integration? Our firm was excited to hear about the launch, but we haven't found a practical way to use it without making folders that directly correlate for each work item.Of course, some integrate naturally now, but not most. How have you been using it?
I know the idea of Karbon is that everyone “owns” their email/tasks, but I have got to get out of everyone emailing me as the head of the company. I am going to explore ticketing systems, so I am curious to see if anyone is using those and how they can work with Karbon. I have a list of websites to check out, but I will prioritize a system that someone already is using with Karbon. I like Karbon for the workflow, so hoping to find something that works with it, so I don’t have to switch to a whole new system and recreate everything.
Hi everyone, I’ve come across this a few times now and wondered if anyone has a better solution. When a recurring work is being reassigned to another person (from the Repeats Settings), the tasks in the repeating work still remain with the previous account manager, how can I make sure it gets updated on both places without having to open all work and scroll down through the tasks and reassign?
We are finally beginning the process of integrating client tasks into some of our work. When we run tests, I can see that the client will have view of our internal work labeling when they go to check off their tasks. Our work labeling is not short nor sweet and I’d rather not field client questions asking what the work title means since we use shorthand to distinguish between work/department/timing, etc. I’d also love to not have to change our existing Karbon work labeling structure just to add client tasks to our toolbox. Has anyone found any workarounds? Cheers,Emily
My company has been successfully using To do for years, all of our templates and automators are built around it. Now it seems that My Week will be replacing To do and I am trying to figure out My Week but I can’t seem to wrap my head around it.First, when all of the tasks are completed and a work is even in the Completed status, why doesn’t it automatically move to Done? This seems like an unneeded step. I understand if all my tasks are done but if the work isn’t done it shouldn’t move, but if the entire work is done? Then, there seems to be no automation for it, if an automator triggers a task to be due this week, it doesn’t move the work to My Week, it just stays where it is. This might be fine for recurring work but for tax work where I am often waiting on clients it’s a problem. I have automators that make my tasks due when a client completes their task list but it stays in To Plan until I manually move it. Also, there should be different views. It seems you can only view by s
I have an issue with naming of the work and the limited option available.I would like it to look like:02 - Feb Bookkeeping03- Mrz Bookkeeping04 - April Bookkeepingas now with only the name they’re all over the place. for one client, it would be nice if it would be in order of the month like above anyone has any idea how to fix that or if it’s even possible or am I just the only one who doesn’t like to options offered. thanks, Karin
So I have work in My Week that has tasks that will be assigned to me when the automator triggers. But in My Week, it says “All Your Tasks Have Been Reassigned”. I go to the Work and I am still the designated assignee in the automator. Also, my role with that client has not changed. Can anyone help me fix this so I am not tempted to click on that “Move to Done”. Thank you.
We are planning a review of our templates and looking to update as needed. Given that there are multple staff involved - it would be create if we could print or download templates into a spreadsheet and make our updates off line before adding online. Is there a way to print templates?
@Rebecca Williams, here’s what I’ve been thinking about as far as building a training and development platform for my staff. I would love to get your (and everyone else’s) feedback and suggestions.GoalCreate a self-sustaining system of training that brings entry-level staff from no knowledge to baseline proficiency in all aspects of the firm within one year.Rough DraftI believe in the value of deep (focused) learning and have also read and experienced the benefit of scattered or randomized training. Deep learning develops specific skills while scattered learning helps with synthesis and understanding the impact on complex system in which one skill resides. We want to design 40-hour training weeks (deep learning) and 8-hour training days (random learning) to teach one of each of the eleven specific skills we utilize in our firm. After their first year, they will start specializing in areas of interest and/or in the areas needed in the firm. The first 52 weeks would looks something like th
Does anyone have or know of a publicly available video or training materials that can be provided to clients showing how to use/operate client tasks? There’s this page in the support knowledge base, but it’s written from the perspective of a Karbon user, not a client. I’d thought there was a video but I can’t find it!https://help.karbonhq.com/en/articles/1524691-see-your-client-s-experience-of-client-tasks
What scheduling software do you guys use to set up recurring monthly or quarterly meetings with clients? Is there a good option out there for accounting firms, or any business that has regular client meetings at the same time every month? (or is that just us?) We’ve been using Acuity/Squarespace but don’t like a lot of the functionality. We were looking into switching to Calendly but they don’t have seamless recurring meeting functions. We’ve previously used Google calendar and liked their recurring function so now that they have an Appointment booking function we were going to switch back to that. Since we currently use Google Workspace for many other things, switching back to them makes sense pricing wise, but they don’t have the ability to let clients reschedule their own meetings using the booking page as needed if you set them up manually as recurring events. At least, not that we can tell…(we’re testing it). Now, we’re on the hunt for a good recurring booking scheduler, and we nee
