Work View Filter Updates

I would like to gather your thoughts on Work Filters.Currently, when a new work status is created there is no option to have the status automatically applied to current Work Views setup with filters. Each work view filter has to be manually updated to add the new work status to the filter, if appropriate.I realize this may be the best solution for some as the filters can be pretty specific, however I would love to have the option to click a button when creating the new work status which would allow it to be applied/added to all Work filters. This would work like the current option of being able to add or not add the new status to All work types.I would only put a feature request in if there is enough preliminary interest here.

Our invoicing needs

Hi all! I would like to start with first and foremost our company is not an accounting firm we are a building design firm. With that in mind we understand that our needs may differ from Karbons core audience and users. I have a few questions regarding the introduction of the invoicing features particularly around the functionality of it the system. Though it would be beautiful to use Karbon for invoicing our confusion is ten fold. We are unable to export to Xero as well as send through Karbon? How is this going to affect our accountants and bookkeepers as they get out data from Xero? Will this affect the reconciliation process in Xero? Is the only way for us to use the system by creating an invoice in both systems? All of your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,EthanAdministrative Operations ManagerDesign Australia Group.

Edit Fee settings on repeating work or change the template - easily

Hi guys,7 Months in and we have some learnings.We have a couple of different groups of clients where we have a fixed fee arrangement for a bundle of work items. We ideally want to change the repeating work fee details from fixed fee to time+cost.How can we do this effectively as it is a 80 clients impacted.

Client Group timelines

Is there an easy way to search a client group timeline for an email? I know I can do a general search of all of Karbon items, but is there a way to search in just the clients related to a single client group? Do we need to add all the correspondence to the client group timeline? Eg if I wrote to one of the Smiths about super but can’t remember who, I don’t want to have to search through every timeline for A Smith, B Smith, C Smith, etc, and searching for “super” in all Karbon items returns too many results.

Budgets in Repeats

If a work item is created and you forget to add the budget before setting up the repeat period, why won’t Karbon update the budget when you edit the repeat?  I’m finding that whenever I go to edit to add the budget estimate, it will not carry over.  The only thing that carries over is time worked on the task.  Any suggestions?  What am I doing wrong if so? Thanks so much!Amanda Lampi

Onedrive is connected, how can I access them?

Settings feature is turned on but does that just mean I can upload docs from there, not access/view them through karbon?

Shared Triage

Hi all! I have two questions:Would emails from the shared triage inboxes have an effect on the total number of emails in your triage? Example: if I only have 1 email in my personal triage, but 30 in a shared triage, would my total number of emails (top left “All - number”) indicate 31? Or would only the number of emails in my personal triage be displayed? Would the emails in shared triage have an effect on our insights like average response time?

What is more important to those of you who track time? $ or Hours?

If you use timesheets to track time, what is more important to you?The $ amount of the Budget vs Actual or the Hours amount of the Budget vs Actual.If you don’t use $ or Rates, do you still have Roles? (So you wouldn’t want the Partner spending an hour on Work that they’d usually only spend 5 mins on, even if the Junior was underbudget by 55 mins)

Searching the Triage on my phone

When looking through my triage on my phone I would like to be have to search a historical email sometimes. There is a way to do this on a browser, but I am not seeing the functionality on my phone. Am I missing something or is this not available?

Incorrect recurring due dates

I see others have posted about this issue over the last few years, but still don’t have a firm grasp on this… our recurring work often has its due dates slowly slip out of alignment with… reality. For example, over time, bookkeeping that both starts and is due for the month of January shows up 2 weeks before the work start date, with many work items and tasks already 5-25 days overdue.  How does this happen, so we can stop whatever we are doing wrong? When it does happen, what is the repair of the existing recurring item (rather than starting all over again with a new recurring work item - losing all those great client-specific work items)?

Clients have not been able to access checklists after some time. After sending it again then it works. Do these checklists expire and if so after how long?

Template or suggested best practice for internal purchasing requests

Does anyone use a Karbon template to manage purchase requests internally through their organization? We are a little loosey goosey right now with our office spending so as I’m looking to tighten that up, it seemed like putting a template in Karbon might be helpful for approval and transparency. Just curious what steps others might have in theirs if they are doing this? Thanks!

Recent work tagged not appearing in a shortlist.

 Where has the recently used work items gone from the tagging section? Historically when i have tagged something to a work, then  tagged a second item to a different work, if i needed to tag a third item to the first work used there was a shortlist of recent items selected, this has now disappeared so i have to type in the name of the work every time.

email to work

have repeat payroll jobs set up.  when an email comes in you want to allocate it to the correct work, but because it is a repeat job, and not due for a couple of weeks, it brings up all the payrolls for that jobs that span the next 3 months, and without making it ready to start, how do you know which is the correct month you are allocating it to, as there are no dates in this area, it just says that the work is planned

Time & Billing errors for miscoding of the Contact

Looking for the best practice here or maybe a feature request.  Sometimes people accidently create a work item (and/or charge time) to an individual, and not the organization.  Is there a way to block certain individual contacts to have any work items created (and time coded to).

QBTime, what does this mean?

On this guide for QBTime it says: Tracking time against a work itemTime recorded on work items does not track up to the contact level. You record time on the contact or work item, and they are separate totals. You can use the reporting in QuickBooks Time to get a total across both contact and work time entered. I haven’t connected our QBT yet, but I’m unsure what this actually means?  In QBTime we record time by customer (we have a flat hourly rate regardless of work type). We want to keep it that way so I was only going to sync contacts, NOT work. Yet, what happens if someone presses the timer in a work item, it won’t get to the contact?  I was hoping that now that we have Karbon, we could measure our time doing specific work as a way of analyzing our work load and time. So, ideally, in Karbon, we could see our time broken down by work, but in QBTime, just the amount of hours spent on a client.
