Karbon product roadmap preview: Features and updates coming in Q2 2023 🎉

Any plans to add tagging to shared inbox? We’ve been using Zendesk for years. You can tag customer based on their email domain or individual contact. Then with the tags you can create custom views for shared inbox.    For example customer Xyz is tagged for “David”. Whenever customer sends an email Zendesk automatically adds “David” tag to email. Then David can have a custom view showing emails which has tag David. So he doesn’t have to scroll through all of the emails. Also you don’t have to have a person tagging incoming emails to whom they belong.     Hi @pasi_tasanen This isn’t a part of the first version of Shared Triage but a great suggestion for the future. I’d put it as a feature idea in Community!

External name on work items and work templateBlog

@Amelia Freeman this is a great start! Is this field coming to the repeat settings tab too? We heavily use dynamic dates when naming repeating work, and if my testing and understanding is correct, all work in a repeating series would have the same name. For regular work (e.g. weekly or monthly) this would get confusing really quickly! Hi Rebecca. For now it will just remain in the details page but we will look to expand it in the future.  For now, could you add ‘weekly’ or ‘monthly’ to the external name?

@Amelia Freeman At the 19:15 time mark, you (Amelia) are going through the demo of sending client tasks to more than one recipient. The reminder settings box comes up and has a new warning indicating 'some items have not due date - reminders won't be sent for these tasks'. Would you be able to provide additional information on this please? We rarely use due dates for client tasks AND always need reminders sent. I really would not want to lose that functionality or have to monitor the client request and resend to each individual who has not completed their request. Hi there. We have updated the wording but this is existing functionality when you select gentle reminders. Gentle reminders are based on due dates. Custom Reminders Not Turning Off When Client Tasks Are Complete

@Cate can you please email support@karbonhq.com? If the work is completed (and all the tasks are therefore marked complete), the reminders shouldn’t be continuing.

Thanks. I more expect functionality updates in Karbon. @MikeLiang What’re your top 3 requests? 🙂 If I could add my requests too, lol, I am frustrated with all the emphasis on KPI’s and metrics I’m not even interested in right now, I’m not sure how the metrics are even useful.  And that’s all I ever hear about… Karbon KPI’s to help you be more efficient, but there really aren’t a lot of practical helpful KPI”s i’m seeing yet. Would love to hear the top 3 KPI”s people find useful.  Anyhow, the top three I would like to see (maybe someone should compile the top 30 request and have a poll on everyone’s top features):  Shared Triage   Ability to send a client request list to multiple people/emails addresses    Ability to start/stop the timer on the work item, change the status of a work item (most importantly) and also the assignee and due dates in My Week on the overlay that pops up. We are clicking way too many times to go into work items, change those ite

Changes to Client Portal are coming

The ability to send a group of requests to multiple people is coming very soon!  Hi @Amelia Freeman on Aug 3 you said coming very soon But then on Oct 28 the language changed to coming in the future / on the radar Hi @Jenna Coffinger. This will be coming in the future. I don’t have a timeline right now but it is on the radar.  Is it no longer coming soon? It was quite a big promise that was heavily suggested was almost here, now it doesn’t sound so close… Thank you Hi @SamG Thank you for reaching out and I can understand the confusion. Earlier in the year I did say this feature was coming soon because it was in development. But since then, some priorities have shifted based on other features we need to build, as well as changes to our team. While I unfortunately don’t have a timeline for when sending requests to multiple people will be released, it is still a feature we know you and our customers need and it is still very much in our plans. How to submit your Karbon feature idea

Groups in Karbon: If an entity is part of a group then any emails / notes / work for any entity in Karbon should by default be allocated to the group.  If a Group (Client) has multiple entities, then it can become frustrating to find the thread you are looking for  Hi @Ben Gay can you please add this as a feature idea? To do this, click the ask question box at the top of the page and select ‘idea’. This means other Karbon users will be able to discuss your idea and vote.

Changes to Client Portal are coming

I was going to create a separate idea for this but I saw the word “Documents” on the left sidebar in the portal shown in the roadmap video from about 10 months ago and then I read this thread.  @Amelia Freeman will the portal eventually include a way for clients to upload documents that haven’t been requested, such as an IRS letter, or allow us to upload documents that the client hasn’t yet requested, like their completed tax return that they can then retrieve at a later date.  Both of those things occur in my practice now within Liscio and if the Liscio and Karbon integrations do not become more robust I may have to abandon Liscio but then I lose the portal features I just describe, texting features, and digital signatures with KBA. Hi there. This is not on the current roadmap but will be considered in the future. Thank you for that additional information.

Still only seeing “In Status” showing as days, hours, minutes instead of the date and time like the example shows in the update release:   Hi Tara. Apologies for the confusion. The image in the notes is a marketing interpretation and is intended to be days. It will cap at 99 days. If you would like to see the date, it is available in the export.

Did you select the column in settings? I tried it and it looks like this:    Houston, I think I have a problem….It’s not there.   Hi @Terri Warren have you tried a hard refresh? If you do a hard refresh and still can’t see the in status option when in Work > Work List, please send it to support@karbonhq.com

Thanks @leigh, some great updates here 🙂 Time admins can edit colleagues' time entries ✅ View history of time entry changes - I love audit trails, but just now I received a timesheet notification in Triage for me adding a time entry to my timesheet.. hoping that’s not going to happen 20-50 times a day as I am adding them 😅 We are looking into this Sam and will have a fix out as soon as possible  Our team are having this problem, with a new notification for every individual time entry. Will keep an eye out for updates. Same here. Constant notifications. Can this update be rolled back? This issue is now resolved. Please let us know if you have any further issues @SamG @Smitty @Adam Kusnierek

Sorting by “In Status” does not produce descending or ascending results.  Hi Trey. Looking into this now. This has been working on all our testing environments so hopefully a quick fix to get it working as expected.  Hi Trey, Amelia. It’s working in my initial test case here.  Thank you for this and the entity names in the portal - excited for both! These may feel like small releases (or maybe they don’t) but they feel like big wins to us. :) Thanks Jonathan. It should be working now @Trey Fulmer

Calendar integration is here! (and more)

@Megan Sells At the moment, we only connect to one calendar - the calendar you log into Karbon with. Additional calendar is something we will look into in the future but do encourage you to put in a feature idea!

Same here It’s live (for O365), but not yet for Google Calendar invitations 🙂 @Adolfo Marquez It is live for O365 and Google but there is a limitation that if you are an O365 user and receive a calendar invitation from Google, we don’t have the information needed to display the buttons and accept from Triage. This is because microsoft change the ics file. If you are on Google there should be no issues. If you think you should be seeing the buttons, please send the issue to support@karbonhq.com and we will be able to help you further.

Sooo…. the response is that the engineers know it’s not working for the top or 2nd top email platform in NA???   Hi Tara The issue is that Microsoft changes the details of the ICS file (how we get the information) and changes it so we cannot link to it anymore. Google does not do this so if Google receives an invite from Microsoft it works. At the moment, there is technically nothing we can do to resolve the issue. We are going to work on a way to improve the user experience so you can accept it from the Karbon Calendar. We do apologise for the inconvenience.       Considering I can accept the invites through Outlook itself, this doesn’t actually make sense. Yes that is correct. You are able to do it through Outlook, as it is their system but we can’t do it through the API available to us.
