Here’s how our firm is currently working on personal productivity! Please feel free to comment and share! 😊We’re reading "Getting Things Done" by David Allen and completing the following steps:Each week you will set an intention based on your reading. Each day you will make a plan to accomplish your intention. Use the PDRA cycle (Plan, Do, Reflect, Adjust) At the end of each day, you will reflect on the day’s effort to see if you accomplished your intention or if you need to make an adjustment. IMPORTANT:Each week you will create a post in the class Teams channel that lists your intention for the week. Each day you will comment at least once per day on your weekly post and include all steps of the PDRA cycle. Each day you must read and comment on at least one other staff member’s reflection.
Here in the US, we have many of our partnerships and s-corp companies extended. I don’t see an easy way to handle this in Karbon other than going in and individually changing the due date on each work item.Has anyone else come up with a best practice for this or have any ideas about how to handle it?

We recently had a mini-meeting about managing your Triage and I was amazed at the number of people that don’t use the filter options in Triage to help you focus. During tax season I can come in from the weekend to over 200 triage items. Here are my best tips on how I use the filters to help get through the list quickly and address any urgent matters.First, your filter for triage is located in the upper-left corner of Triage. You can drop down and choose just email, @mentions, etc. See snipFilter to see just Email. Quickly skim the list and respond to any urgent items Respond to client emails that need an immediate response Respond to all emails that can be done quickly, 5 minutes or less Assign the emails that need a response, but will require more work to My Week Clear any emails that do not require you to do anything or respond Make sure you have tagged all emails to the client or work as needed Filter to see Mentions Quickly skim the list and respond to any urgent request
Has anyone implemented shared mailboxes in Karbon, even in a partial way?I know this is likely to be a new feature in a future release of Karbon but shared mailboxes are such an important part of our business processes that I really need to try and do something to include communications to and from shared mailboxes in our Karbon workflows now.So, for example I have created a Karbon account for one of our shared mailboxes, but when it is specified as the email address in the “From: Other Colleague” section of the sending settings of the client task the email appears to come from the assignee not the shared mailbox.

What's everyone using for tax organizers? Tax software organizer? Or something custom built?We have been internally designing a personalized organizer that looks and feels more like a "checklist" than the stale, old tax organizers produced by the tax software companies.We are at a crossroad in our design and we would enjoy collaborating with those who've custom built their own tax organizers. Hi,We are switching over to Karbon at present. I am just wondering how those using XPM for billing handle Karbon? Do you still set up a job in XPM? If so then there are two jobs on hand - one in Karbon and the other in XPM? How do you then bill the client? What is “Best Practice”?Still a bit confused here.Thanks
When I completed my Karbon template training the recommendation was that you should not mix tasks for different roles within one section. Can anyone explain why this is?In some of our processes, two colleagues will be working on one job and often the tasks often alternate between them. Setting up each task in a separate section because the role has changed results in a template with 50 or 60 sections, and each section contains only one task. This makes the template unwieldy and difficult to use. Is there a good reason why I can’t create a single section containing tasks for two different roles? The work can be assigned to the senior colleague so there is no confusion about ownership or accountability when the work is being delivered.
For 2020 and 2021, Karbon has become carbon neutral by auditing and offsetting our carbon footprint (1K tons of CO2 in 2020, and 1.7K tons of CO2 in 2021). We use whatsapp with our clients at log... how do others keep track of text message etc communication with clietns?
A lot of our clients respond 100% better when we use an instant messaging app like whats app… my concern is a lot of communication is not being captured agains the client/jobs in Karbon. Does anyone have a good way to resolve this?

We use automators to set due dates for individual tasks. For example when the tasks in the above section are completed, set the due date for this section to be 4 days after. Ideally, it should be the number of business days to not count weekends. Is there any work-around here or should this be submitted as a new feature?
