I’m looking for a way to send an automated email to client IF an extension is required for planned work. The work would start on 1/1 with a planned as work status. i would like to have the client emailed after a certain number of day if the work status is still has a work status of planned. Is this possible?
We are always looking to improve our processes and I was wondering how other people handled printing client tasks. Ideally, we would be able to use Karbon as a tax organizer but with the number of hoops we have to go through to extract the information it isn’t ideal.Currently, if we want to use a client task as part of a workpaper, we have to take a screenshot/snip of the page, paste it into Word and print that to pdf. It is inefficient, time consuming and doing screenshots can increase the file size drastically. We don’t love any of the other options available to us for client organizers and if we could do it through Karbon it would be amazing.(Yes, we have sent this suggestion in to Karbon many times through the feature request)
We use whatsapp with our clients at log... how do others keep track of text message etc communication with clietns?
A lot of our clients respond 100% better when we use an instant messaging app like whats app… my concern is a lot of communication is not being captured agains the client/jobs in Karbon. Does anyone have a good way to resolve this?
I use Client Tasks for customised tax return and account preparation checklists, however:When we reply to client queries through the comments, the client receives a notification which takes them into the whole checklist. Numerous clients have complained that they must click through every checklist item to find which item we have replied to, which is time consuming and annoying. Clearly this renders the discussion capacity of Client Tasks practically useless due to the poor client experience, and forces us to call or email instead of replying within the relevant items, which is clearly counterproductive. We are unable to print the list of items with client responses and discussion visible in Client Task for our workpapers. In my view, without the ability for clients to be taken to the comments make and respond efficiently, and without the ability to print full checklists with discussions, Client Tasks is not finished.I’ve invested countless hours into creating various client checklists
Hello everyone,New here :) Our firm is currently using Practice Ignition to import clients once they have signed their proposal. The issue we constantly have is emails sitting in our triage from clients who have not signed on with us yet, therefore there is no client in Karbon to attach them to yet. We could create one ahead of time, but I think Karbon would double up on contacts if we do that.Wondering if anyone has any solution to this so they don’t just have emails sitting in their triage that need to be added to a work or contact.Help would be much appreciated or any advice. Thanks!
Dear peer/Karbon specialist, I believe following are common in a firm practice environment. What is the best way to do that in Karbon? When we have a firm wide/team wide work (most of times, it is internal work) for all firm staff or team members, for example, I request all team member to complete same task, how should I setup this? Work duplication: How can I duplicate a work of one client to another client? I only see duplicate option for work template, but didn’t se duplicate work option for work? Anyway to do that? Thanks.
I am using a template which is called “Weekly Accounting”I can’t remember how we set it up so the title includes the date and it changes every week. That’s what a current one for one of our clients looks likeI use the template then I change the title but I can’t get the title to include the applicable week.Dan
Hello! I would like to find out how other organizations assign the task of creating work items (new clients, new projects, whatever). Do you centralize that process internally to one person/group that manages it? We talked about that being a more administrative/process mgt task that could be done for the accounting teams. I also wonder if pushing that to the team/accountant that is actually doing the work is better (this could lead to various styles and inconsistencies across client work items). Any thoughts out there or experience/lessons learned? Thank you!
In Karbon, for work(/job) level, there is only only work assignee who is supposed to be a job in-charge. However, in accounting firm, due to the compulsory requirement of professional code, each piece of professional work require an engagement manager as well as an engagement leader (normally the partner). There is nowhere to put these two role in. I know there is so called “client owner” and “client manager” under client contact card. However, these two to me are only for client level, rather than work level concept. Since 1) the client owner and client manager are more for relationship purpose, rather than the professional work role. 2) most important, in my firm, one client may have different type of work, for example, tax service and accounting service may have different work managers, one client manager does not cover both at all. How are you guys or KARBON expert suggest on this? Only get-around I found is to setup a colleague role called “work manager” and “work leader”, however
Does anyone know best practice for downloading client uploads on tasks. For example if a client uploads 6 separate image files of bank statements, I cannot drag and drop them, nor can I choose a ‘download all’ function like I can in an email. Is there a workaround or a planned upgrade to Karbon to fix this?
I am trying to save an email for instance form Karbon about new features. However I have no timeline to save it to since Karbon is not a client of ours they are a vendor. How do people clear this out of their Triage without adding it to a contact or timeline?
Occasionally we send out mass emails to groups of clients, using bcc functionality in Gmail. However, we’ve found that when clients respond, Karbon groups all of those responses together in a single message in Triage rather than separating them by client. They way that Triage handles these messages makes it confusing to see who is responding to the message and limits what you can do with the message after opening it. I’m curious if others have experienced this issue and how you work around it?
We are struggling to find good admin staff locally and the Karbon learning curve doesn’t help. Has anyone used a virtual assistant with Karbon experience? Any idea where to find such a person? I envision someone that knows Karbon through and through, who could work remotely for one or multiple firms, managing the day-to-day flow of information and work. I’d love referrals if anyone knows this person!
I was trying to add an email signature in Karbon with some images on it to make the signature fancy and look more professional. However, I noticed that some of our clients whenever they are receiving my email, most of the images on the signature are not showing or even just a box with no image on it. I also find it complicated to paste or create a graphical email signature in Karbon compare to Outlook. Anyone who has a workaround or having the same issues?
In working to get Time & Budgets up and out of the door, we sent out a survey to understand what billing rates were by role and the related fixed fees charged per service provided. We have that information across different geographies and firm sizes. Thank you all for participating to provide some understanding so we could set some default rates and details within Karbon. Would it be of interest to post those results here? I would love to hear from the community how those averaged rates and fees differ to your own. There appears to be quite a lot of variation from the data. In addition, is this something you would like to see/learn more from us in terms of the underlying research that we do? Let us know!
