Improved email contact search

Finding and choosing the right person to email is now easier and more intelligent in Karbon.

When searching for a contact, you’ll see additional information like contact type, client type, client ID, and organizations involved in the search results. 

With these fields displayed, you’ll have more confidence that you’re reaching the right person.

 

Automatic fixed fee realization

Karbon Billing now automatically calculates your realization rate for fixed fee and recurring work, so you can focus on making decisions rather than manually compiling data.

No actions are needed from you to gain access to this reporting. It will be available automatically in your realization dashboard.

QuickBooks Online Accountant integration (beta)

The integration between Karbon and QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) has been extended to keep your billing in sync.

Invoices sent from Karbon will automatically be synced to QBOA. Payments are also synced both ways to ensure invoice due amounts are consistent across both systems.

If you'd like to test and provide feedback on the QBOA integration, please register your interest by filling out this form. You’ll receive an email if your firm is a good fit for the early beta and you’ll be looped in as further features are rolled out.

As an early beta participant, you'll have the opportunity to influence and shape enhancements that will make the final feature stronger for you and your firm.

 

Auto-populate Accounts and Confirmation Statement due dates as deadlines from Companies House

If you’re a UK customer with client organisations connected to Companies House, you will now see your client’s Accounts and Confirmation Statement due dates auto-populated when they set up a deadline date on work items.

This feature will be rolled out in the coming weeks to your account based on your Companies House filing dates. There's no action needed from you to access it. It will be available when it’s enabled for your account.

 

Access invoice data from Karbon Practice Intelligence (KPI)

An invoice data table has been released to KPI so you can build custom reporting on invoices.

With your Snowflake reader account, you can access invoice data like invoice status, payment date, due date, and payee. This will allow you to create reports such as aged receivables.

Rename email account display name in Shared Triage

You can now change the display name of an email account after connecting it in Shared Triage, directly from Karbon.

To update the email account display name, in the Shared Triage Settings page, click the three dots next to the email account you want to update. Once renamed, this is the name your clients will see when you email them from Karbon.

Hi Max. It will change both for future emails. So what you see in Karbon and what your clients will see when you email from Karbon. If you email from your native provider, it will be the previous name, so if you do want to update the name I would update it in both places.

Fixed Fee Realisation report is great - is there a simple tweak that could be made to bring in a column in the export (& ideally a filter on the main screen) for Billed date? Often this is different to the time entry range

Are we able to get the suggestions (ie linked contacts) on the Cc field as well like it is on the main email address field? We have a lot of clients that want Cc’s and at the moment the ‘linked/suggested’ contacts only work on the main email address field, so when Cc’ing a client you still have to sift through the entire database of emails (which is easier now with the latest update, but still a bit cumbersome)

Hi Amelia, yes that’s right. 

When creating an email on the Timeline of a Karbon Contact there are ‘suggestions’ for the linked contacts when clicking on the ‘To’ email field. Would be awesome if the smart list of linked contacts came through on the Cc field as well
