Use the Client Communication KPI Workbook to visualize email activity, improve client service, and boost efficiency. This Karbon update also adds AI summaries for work timelines, repeating work improvements, and UK direct debit.

Client Communication KPI Workbook

The newest Karbon Practice Intelligence (KPI) workbook gives you a comprehensive understanding of how your firm communicates with clients.

Carefully designed reports visualize your firm's email activity to identify trends, improve client service and boost communication efficiency. Assess metrics such as email response times, client task statuses, and overall email volume, helping you ensure timely and effective communication with your clients.

Use this report to answer questions such as:

  • Are you replying to client emails within your agreed service levels?
  • What is the status of client tasks?
  • How many days have passed since communication with key clients?
  • Is your team clearing emails as frequently as they are receiving them?

AI work conversation summaries (beta)

Use Karbon AI to get up-to-speed on the latest emails and notes on a work item.

Similar to the summarize option for client timelines, you can now generate a summary of the last 10 items on a work item timeline—including emails, notes, activities, and any comments associated with them.

Use this to get a quick overview of a job before going to a client or staff meeting, or if you want the highlights without reading through numerous lengthy conversations.

This feature is currently in beta. You can request access to the beta program.

More control over repeating work

When setting work to repeat on a schedule, you can now choose how many instances the work item will repeat for—instead of simply setting an end date.

This option is useful if you follow set client calendars, or find it easier to set a number rather than identify an end date.

To choose this option, select Number of Instances in the existing Repeat Until drop-down when setting up repeat work. This option exists when scheduling both single work items and multiple work items in bulk.

When you select this option, a new placeholder will appear in your Work Naming Convention called Repeat Instance Count. Choosing this will include a dynamic repeat instance count in any work items created in that schedule.

Changes to work items appearing in My Week

The default date for work items that are added to My Week will now be based on the start date of the work item. This change is consistent with what currently happens with work on repeat settings, and applies to work created in bulk and individually.

This change has been driven by customer feedback and removes the need to manually update the planned week for new work items.

Direct debit payments available in UK

United Kingdom customers can now collect payments on invoices using direct debit to lower transaction fees

Clients can enter their bank account information to pay an invoice using direct debit. An option is given to save payment details for automatic payment of future invoices. Make collecting future payments even faster by using the new Request Payment Details feature to collect direct debit payment details in advance of work being done.

Direct debit payments are now available in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK.
