Archiving old clients

No one likes losing a client; however it does happen over time for one reason or another.

Karbon (at present) does not have the ability to delete a client fully and totally; and this probably a good idea as there are tasks/work schedules/documents attached to all client work that would need to be kept for compliance reasons.

A work-around that we found was to simply put the client as inactive and add “ZZZ” to the front of their name.  They then no longer show up in our current client list prominently and/or appear in work tasks.

Hope this solution is helpful; please let me know if anyone has a better work-around!

Very good tip, thank you - we usually create a Client Offboarding Job in Karbon for the client and as part of the process Mark all existing work for the client as No Longer a Client, but when you need to download a list of all “existing” clients, makes total sense to rename with ZZZ ;) We change the client type as Old Client

Yes, we do same. Create a Client Offboarding Job & relevant tasks are assigned to team members & then we change client status as ‘Non-Current’. However this status shows at Clients Detail tab, but when we open Client the default tab is ‘Timeline’ & from here we can’t see the status & team member sometimes create works without checking status.

I think for ‘Non-Current’ clients, Karbon should put restriction or alert whenever we create a work or send email.
