What feeds into budget overview?

I have set up my client with some time estimates: Note - these estimates are in both completed work and the upcoming work.Now when I go to my client’s time and budget screen, the budget overview says 0.Am I supposed to be putting a budget for the client somewhere else besides inside each work item?

Having trouble with Search

I’m having a problem with search not finding anything. In a Client Request I wrote, “what is the charge for DoubleTree Hotel.” Now, when I go to search and type in Doubletree, nothing shows up under the work section. Are client requests not searchable?

Bank Routing and Account numbers

For many things we do, we might need to enter a clients bank account and routing numbers in order to pay something (mostly taxes). We currently keep that data on a physical sheet in our office. Ofcourse, when someone is sick and is working from home, this becomes a problem.I’ve seen people recommend lastpass to store passwords, but it doesn’t seem to include things outside of passwords like this. So, how are people handling this? Our salesperson showed us the karbon security page https://karbonhq.com/security/ and said putting that information in a repeating task is actual secure. Since most logins are 2factor anyway, we have not been using Lastpass for passwords and instead just putting them in the Karbon task, but we haven’t yet moved account numbers or other things that wouldn’t have that 2factor authorization when using.

See all of one industry

In the accounting details of each client, it lists the industry. So for instance, I put in Brewery for some of them. Now, if I get an email that affects all my brewery clients - how do I find them? I went to the organization contacts and searched brewery and it didn’t pull up anyone that had that listed in the industry.

How much are you spending on your tech stack?

Alongside Karbon, we currently use Microsoft 365, Sharefile, QBT, Hubspot, etc etc etc. I was wondering how others base thier tech cost stack. For instance, are you trying to keep it to a percentage of income, or try to tie it to hourly rates, etc?

Connect to client QB

On a clients detail page, it says connected applications and then manage connections. When you click that it says you need a log in to thier QB in order to make the connection. If you are under thier QB as an Accountant, can I just use my accountant log in?

Two Client Requests in same Work Item

Hi. I have a payroll work for one client who needs me to email a payroll slip to one employee. So, I inside one work I want to have one client request, where I send all Payroll to client, and then a second client request to the employee. My question is - if the employee gets the client request and then creates an account, will they see all the client request that are associated with their email, or all client requests that are with that company?

QBTime, what does this mean?

On this guide for QBTime it says: Tracking time against a work itemTime recorded on work items does not track up to the contact level. You record time on the contact or work item, and they are separate totals. You can use the reporting in QuickBooks Time to get a total across both contact and work time entered. I haven’t connected our QBT yet, but I’m unsure what this actually means? In QBTime we record time by customer (we have a flat hourly rate regardless of work type). We want to keep it that way so I was only going to sync contacts, NOT work. Yet, what happens if someone presses the timer in a work item, it won’t get to the contact? I was hoping that now that we have Karbon, we could measure our time doing specific work as a way of analyzing our work load and time. So, ideally, in Karbon, we could see our time broken down by work, but in QBTime, just the amount of hours spent on a client.

Advice on onboard CURRENT clients

The templates in Karbon are great for Onboarding new clients. How do people usually handle onboarding current clients - we are moving them from sharefile and no communication type portal to Karbon. I could just email my clients and let them know (with whatever other information we decide to include), or create a current client template with a client request and have that include the same exact information. Is there a benefit to one over the other?

Is there a setting to go to work instead of timeline

Hi, when I click on a organization, is there a setting were it can take me to the Work tab instead of the Timeline tab?
