Work type and Task Type

I would like to see how other peer firms here use Work Type and Task Type, What scenario are each of these two types used for what purpose?  and how to setup these two types to avoid overlapping. I currently set up more than more than 10 internal work type (non-chargeable, for internal management, like marketing, HR, finance etc.)  and more than 10 internal tasks type (similar to work type). I want to cut task type to “chargeable” and “non-chargeable”. not sure if that will cause any useful report having less data.

Folder Structure

By the chance of the implementation of connection of Karbon to our DMS-sharepoint, I am re-thinking our folder structure. Due to we are full service provider,  there are too many level of folders and I cannot think of a way to avoid that, below is a typical folder structure and level we currently have:First level folder: client name2nd level: service type (ie, bookkeeping, financial report, income tax return, ad-hoc advice, etc3rd level: no.of financial year ,ie FY2022, FY2023, etc.4the level: if the work is monthly, there will be month no., e.g., July, August and so on and so forth5th level: nature of document, ie, workpaper, client PBC,  review documents etc. What I am thinking specifically:Anyway to avoid using the folder, but we can still file the documents in an organized way and can search and find files very quickly when needed. I thought of Metadata, however, don’t know exactly how that is implemented  If still using folder structure, is there any other better structure, like t

IT support Company

This is not relevant to Karbon. But just want to see if any my peer firms (with 8-12 staff) have any recommendation of a good/cost-effective Managed IT service supplier to recommend? We are based in Sydney Australia. My main needs are:Procurement and management of IT equipment, mainly are laptops (if at a corporate discounted price, or leasing term, it will be better) Support to setup new laptop for new employees and remove content for leaving employees etc. Support to setup the new employee’s office 365 account and access to office 365,/MS Team IT guru/support when we have a service needs, e.g., when we need to realise some new feature with MS 365, MS Team, app connector etc., they can provide solution and implementation All other security and consistency in securitiy and IT policy measures

More Control of normal user's access

Dear peers, I would like to understand your practice and logic of Karbon in managing access of the users to some certain change in key job management information.Facts:work assignee do not have experiences and authority to decide the start date and due date of a work. In my firm, manager decide who work on which work, and in what time frame.However, in Karbon, all users are able to change everything in a work setting, budget, fee, declines, starting date. It is becoming messy and lack of control/supervision and we cannot measure the result (say deadline meeting status) for each staff, since it is just one click for them to move the deadline or other information. I would like to understand how other peer firm is monitoring and controlling this? What is Karbon’s management logic behind this? I understand Karbon may encourage open and transparent work culture. But without saying dishonesty of team member, junior team member normally only does the work and have basic technical skills, but

Note visibility and confidentiality

I know Karbon encourage to use note for internal communication. However, I noted that if a colleague send note to another colleague, the note is visible to all colleagues. I hope there is something I don’t know so that colleagues can confidently send note to each if it is a bit more privacy information/communication. If no way to get around, I will lodge an idea to the feature Idea. Another thing is the comments under a work/contact which is a private contact. I think Karbon needs to be fix is that, if I @ some colleague in that note/following comments. The colleagues should only see that specific comments/note I @ them. They shouldn’t be added to the contact/work as they will see all future Commnications not as intended. (I know when I @them, there is a reminding message from Karbon, but this is not helpful, especially when someone is careless or overlooks it). Currently, to avoid that, the only way is to send an email to the colleague separately, that will break the intuition and dec

Office 365 contact sync

I noted that Karbon can import office 365 contact. Before I try it, anyone has the experience of the contact syncing from office 365 for following questions?If I hit the button, will current existing contact in Karbon lost or replaced by the imported office 365 cotact? Or the imported office 365 contact will be added as additional contact?  Is it possible to double-way syncing contact with office 365? ie, if I update any details of the contact or add a new contact in Karbon, it will be synced back to office 365?
