Synced with Outlook - my Category Colors are not populating in Karbon. I can select in Outlook a color to apply to the entire calendar and then all appointments appear in Karbon as that color but there no color coding difference between my different categories - anyone else experiencing this? Hi @Dana Maxwell great question - the current version of Calender taps into “Calendar Colors”. Outlook treats “Category Colors” as a different feature and we have not integrated to that part yet. So, for now, best thing is to log your observation as a feature request.
@evanrnhall Regarding the “Automatically connect repeating work items with your Document Management System (DMS)” mentioned near the end of this post, it appears this is still a static linking rather than being able to create a dynamic link which would create a folder based on a placeholder (e.g. using the work name / part of the work name or something similar to create the folder associated with that months’ work)? This release includes only static link to recurring work items. I believe carbon is working on future releases that will add dynamic links based on placeholder content in the URL. @LD7E - what @max said ;)Cheers @max
I love it too. I have been waiting for this for so long! @evanrnhall Does Karbon plan to add event reminders? That is the only reason why I can’t close Outlook completely. Hi @davideigner as with all large features, this is just a robust v1. We’ve got a lot up our sleeves (both classic calendar functions and also Karbon specific stuff). But we want to hear from you! Go to Feature Request here in Community and let us know what you’d find helpful. We likely won’t commit or comment on specific additional features until Calendar has been out for at least a few weeks and we’ve started collecting feedback to validate our direction.
Is calendar update this week? Been waiting for the whole week, not talking about it the whole week. Hi Mike - sorry about that - we needed to push it back a week, but tentatively should be there Monday. HI Evan, wondering if this will be live this week? Thanks. Hi Mike - no, not this week I’m afraid. It was deemed a little more QA was prudent. As you can see, this is why we don’t usually publish release dates! This kind of “almost ready” status is actually quite common, you’re just not normally privy to it since most releases aren’t pre-announced like Calendar was. Thanks for your continued patience and excitement!
I posted this on another thread but don’t think I saw a response: The OneDrive/SharePoint integration looks great thus far for attaching files to emails. However, our biggest pain point is saving files received FROM clients via email. Do you anticipate the integration will address that eventually or will we still have to click into the attachment then save as from the native app (i.e. Adobe for PDFs)? Hi @amlbmo sorry for delayed response. Not much we can comment on at this time. The use case you described makes a lot of sense, but is not on the immediate roadmap. The functionality is now on the list of what is being considered along with a lot of other great ideas - if it turns out to be an easy development it may just suddenly appear in one of our releases. If it’s more complex and gets green-lit you’ll likely hear it mentioned in one of our future roadmap webinars.
I wish My Week split up into days, that’s why I’m still finding myself using my to-do list more. I can see what I have on each day easier. Sit tight for the release of Calendar next year Becca. That will let you do some time blocking. Is the daily visibility useful to help identify what you need to get done today? Or is it to look across multiple days to balance your work across your available capacity? Or something else? Hi Evan, I know this was from some time ago but just wanted to provide some quick feedback that the calendar we’re currently beta testing in My Week is not nearly as fluid as task-based to-do dates that we can view based on the particular day of this week. I’m not sure if you’ve received any feedback on this (or can evaluate calendar use vs. to-do use internally) so just wanted to provide a quick comment. In my opinion, adopting a culture that requires all tasks/notes/emails/work to be time-blocked is a bit aggressive….and I much pr
@evanrnhall “Starting the timer on a piece of work from within My Week will automatically move it into 'Working on Now' to make it easier for your team to see what you're working on, so they can plan effectively. “ Will it be removed from working on now when the timer is stopped? I can see this getting very cluttered if not. If you are not utilizing the timer for a particular item/task, will there be a feature to quickly move it to working on now from the calendar like you are able to start the timer? Would be helpful to be able to do that. Thanks @Terri Warren ! For the first question, short answer is “no” (at least not for a while). The complexity would be if someone’s work required multiple timer entries before they are “done” (if for example they had to record time against multiple task types). As you get usage anecdotes from your team, please share! Calendar idea would defiantly be a ways off if we did it. Getting the core functionality right first. IDea is cool though (assu
I’d love to see training that is more basic and focused for an employee user that has, say standard permissions vs admin permissions. Admin training for those that are not owners. Manager type training that is more in depth on reporting, filtering my week and work with guidance on how to realistically set expectations for themselves and their team. @Terri Warren have you explored the “Right For Me” learning paths in Academy for use with standard users? They do what you described. The “manager type training” is covered some in Certification, and any depths not addressed there would be good to identify. Either to bolster Certification or to create as ad hoc coursework. You’re always welcome to email me with specific needs, but putting those ideas in here is also great to crowdsource feedback and perspective!
Hi @evanrnhall, Thats great but a lower grade of certificate for those doing more basic modules is more rewarding and a better sense of accomplishment than doing a few modules and maybe never progressing to the exert levels. sounds like you have the content in place but it just needs a split and certificates to reward the newer team members Thanks Johann! The “Right For Me” paths are wholly contained, so you do get the experience of being “done” with them, however you’re correct that we don’t currently have any kind of badging associated with completion.I’d love to hear more from you (and others watching this thread) on what would be meaningful to your team and informative to your leaders. While the Certification badge currently gets surfaced both within Karbon and within Community, we would need to create that surfacing mechanism for any other badge to show there or elsewhere. Doing so requires time and resource, so we need to make sure we have a clear understanding on exactly wh
Thank you both @Johann Goree @kylenecarse ! In the near future we’ll add a content recommendation form into the new Academy page, but feature request here in Community is fine for the time being so those great ideas don’t get lost. Johann, in the new Academy page is a program called “Right For Me” - it offers five different paths for people with more limited needs than Certification (but otherwise reuses content from Certification). It starts with a simple four question yes/no survey about your job duties and uses that to determine which path is right for you. What’s cool is that once someone completes content toward Right For Me, it “counts” towards later doing Certification if they decide to go that route. Win-win!
Is it possible to multiselect and assign to a contact? It would save so much time. Hi Chris - as with so much, we release in smaller iterations. For now, “clearing” is the only action, but now that the ability to multi-select exists we’ll be looking at additional actions. Assigning to contacts is definitely up for consideration, but adding it in to the Feature Request page never hurts either ;)
Hi Evan, Does the Drag and Drop feature work for a client task? When we send a task for documents can they now drag and drop the documents from their desktop into their task? If yes, that would be awesome. If not, maybe this would make a good feature request. Anything we can do to make sending items back easier is a win. Not at this time @DianeK - huge overhaul of client task experience is in the works though, so I’d expect it to be in there.
I am not able to log in and all content is empty. How to solve that? Mike Hi Mike, sorry for the trouble. Please take a look at this and double check you’re clicking in the right spot: https://help.karbonhq.com/en/articles/6250278-logging-in-to-karbon-academy If it’s still not working for you after that please email directly to troubleshoot firstname.lastname@example.org
I am certified, but sometimes I feel like a need a refresher. I can’t wait to try out the Right for me learning section. I could use a refresher on Time and Budget. Exactly! Content will be there for you on demand 24/7 now. Refresh as needed! To clarify: Right For Me uses the SAME content as Certification, just a more narrow subset of that content. BUT if someone completes Right For Me and then wants to do Certification, they’ll see previously completed lessons already marked as done (they are welcome to re-do if they like of course). Makes upskilling to full cert easy! Time & Budgets material is not available yet, but is in development. Hopefully ready in July. It will be a large body of curriculum that helps guide choosing which parts of the Time & Budgets feature you should use based on your situation, and how to get setup.
How do I get access to this feature? I only see Beta options for other features Hi Tara - the bulk import is available in app now. There’s a link in the original post to our support article. Please DM me with more details if that’s not what you meant and I’ll try to help.
Looks good! Can you also include a column to indicate if a contact has any work items? I want to filter to the clients with work items so I can make sure they are all set up correctly. Hi Mike! Please add ideas like this into the regular feature request area of Community. I’m sure we’ll get a lot of great ideas on this feature and it’s good to have them all in one place for all to see and discuss.
Hi @SamG ! The “smart suggestions” are thus far only on new emails from timeline, not client tasks. Don’t worry, just a matter of time until you see it in more places though. Thanks @evanrnhall. I, like @max thought the Smart Suggestions were on Client Tasks too. One of the reasons being, when this update was released, it was Client Tasks that we started having the issue with (of not seeing the email address - @Melissa Gock’s picture) - which, have the ‘not smart’ suggestions always not showed the email address? Or was that a consequence of the same update that made them not show on contacts we were searching for, and it hasn’t been changed back like the others were? I suppose I forgot that Client Task suggestions were never ‘smart’. I hope someone, in hindsight, has realised it was a little silly to originally create a “Suggestions” popup for Client Tasks, but the suggestions be other clients not related to Work or Group Looking forward to Suggestions on Client Tasks becomin
@evanrnhall with Suggestions in the Send To field of a client task: - these don’t show email adresses (should they?) - I have been suggested two contacts, neither contact has anything at all to do with the organisation I am sending the client task for (is that right?) Hi @SamG ! The “smart suggestions” are thus far only on new emails from timeline, not client tasks. Don’t worry, just a matter of time until you see it in more places though. Client task recipient suggestions currently should be showing email address - if yours are NOT please submit a Support ticket (I just tested in my account and it’s working). BUT note that you won’t see the emails on the list that pops up when you first click into the “send to” field - you have to start typing something into the field and then the list will reflect emails. This will be cleaner once we have the actual smart suggestions integrated into client tasks.
@max never say never! (I mean, I know sometimes we say never… but mostly we try not to).In the short term, the balance we’re trying to keep is this: our releases come out morning/afternoon on Mondays in Australia (your Sunday). This is beneficial because our whole Southern Hemisphere development team is in the office and on-hand juuuust in case there’s a fire to put out. A release on US Saturday means folks are working on the weekend. While we all do that at some point, having it be the “regular” schedule year-round isn’t ideal. But, more importantly, unless 100% of the team worked weekends, it means we would be less well staffed to handle deployment emergencies than we are in the current cadence. Ultimately, we have to prioritize the overall stability of the app. But again… never say never! I always like to look for the, “what can I do now?” if the ideal solution isn’t available yet. For you and all customers, that’s keeping the feedback coming (here in Community is probably best). L
