karbon time - no start and stop times in record

@max sorry if I posted this twice, but do you export your time from karbon by creating an excel file with time entries and then importing that to QBO, or is there a more direct method of sending the time over?

Thanks @max!  I do have almost an entirely hourly paid staff.  I will have to look further at your idea of exporting time and billing to QBO.  It would be great to cut out QB Time. But, I am looking forward to getting away from billing in QBO ASAP.  I will still use it for payroll though.

Automators to assign work to a role

Thank you DianeK and max for your answers.  It made me feel better knowing that others have struggled and found solutions also!  I will be considering how your ideas may work for us and respond back here.  Before seeing your responses we did decide to decide to use statuses as our mode for managing work from the kanban and set those up as our automators.  We have separated our 1040 process into several stages and use automators to change the status as the returns move through the process.  I definitely will share my feedback here when I have an idea how that will work and/or what the shortcomings may be and also consider incorporating your ideas.  Thanks again!

Workflow template - when there are multiple linear processes (two or more outcomes)

Hi Coral,Thank you for sharing your process.  it seems in my case that it could possibly be handled as two work items, one to gather the information and determine if a return is required, and then a second work item to start if it is determined that the returns are, in fact, needed.This gives me something to think about!

What is best practice for Invoicing in Karbon workflow?

Hi @max! I saw your post here.We are setting up the karbon - QBT - QBO time/billing process.  Every step of this is new for us!  We have decided to use QBT to track our time as we like to track a start and stop time for each timeslip.  So, where I am struggling - it seems that the billing rates have to be set up in QBO, is that correct?  And, it seems that we would have to have a QBO item for each staff for each type of work they do because they have different billing rates for each different type of work.In our old software we called them “work codes”.  For example, we would have a work code for “Individual income tax returns”.  Which I think this would become a “service revenue item” in QBO and a “task type” in karbon.  But, I could not find where we could establish a billing rate that would follow the timeslip and personal billing rate into QBO.  So, it seemed like I would have to have a separate “service revenue item” for each type of work but also for each employee at each of thei

How to do follow up in karbon

Thank you all for your responses and guidance!  @Kirk Jeske I totally agree with your position regarding colleague expectations!  Right now as all are learning though, I do want to keep tabs until I am more confident that my team members are using karbon tools appropriately.  Everyone’s responses are very helpful to get me on my way, thanks again!
