Reuse of corporate email to invite new Team member

For our production team we assign corporate emails eg Team1@us.com

I am trying to reuse one of the email associated with an archived employee to register/invite a new team member and am getting this error.

'This email address is associated with another colleague or contact’- how can I override this ?
