I have an issue with naming of the work and the limited option available.I would like it to look like:02 - Feb Bookkeeping03- Mrz Bookkeeping04 - April Bookkeepingas now with only the name they’re all over the place. for one client, it would be nice if it would be in order of the month like above anyone has any idea how to fix that or if it’s even possible or am I just the only one who doesn’t like to options offered. thanks, Karin

Ability to Export a work item to Excel/CSV
Is there a way to export a work item and related tasks/sub-tasks to excel? We are preparing a end of month check list to share with a client for their internal purposes and would like to use one of our Karbon work as a basis. Right now I have to copy and paste each task or re-type it separately in to excel.

Client request gentle reminders with multiple client request due dates
Anyone know how this reminder works with different client request item due dates?I checked the help files and they do not seem to address if you have more different due dates for different client request items (we make the tax questionnaire due before the documents).Do the reminders go based on the earliest due date? What if there is a client request without a due date? The instructions in the blue box say to add due dates to all tasks. What happens if the due dates are within 7 days? Does the first reminder get skipped or just go to the back of the line?I will test this, but I’m curious if anyone knows so I can get my answer more quickly. 😊It would be cool to get clarity in the help docs, too @Aliesa Jackson. 😁
Custom Reminders Not Turning Off When Client Tasks Are Complete
I have found that even when a Work item is complete, or when the Client Tasks are complete, the Custom Reminders are not automatically turning off.Is there a way to get EVERY Work item that has a reminder in a list so that we can turn off reminders one after the other without having to go into every single Work item? Or, can the Custom Reminders automatically turn off when the Client Tasks, or at minimum the Work item, is complete? There would be no reason for Reminders to stay on when the Work is complete...
Project Manager Role/Job Description?
Hey All -- hoping to solicit some feedback from the group from folks who have someone at their firm in a “project management” type role.In an ideal world, I would want someone to be the owner of all things Karbon and fill a project management / account management role to augment our client services team. For those of you who have someone in that role in a dedicated capacity, how do you define their day to day responsibilities? I have a general sense of what it might look like (see below) but for awhile now I have struggled with how to properly articulate the job description. A sample list of the representative responsibilities would be things like:Assigning workload / capacity management of team members’ work Monitoring and ensuring delivery of client deadlines Scheduling / planning new client work Oversight of Karbon hygiene (making sure due dates are set appropriately, statuses are being used appropriately, etc.)We are a team of 20+ and have used Karbon for a few years now. Unsuccessfully trying to add work schedule using the API
issueI get 4005 (when I modify the structure) or 5001 (when I run according to documentation) when trying to add a work schedule via POST request.detailsThe documentation seems a little light (didn’t include a few fields I thought would be necessary), and I’m getting an internal server error whenever I try to add a work schedule.I performed a GET request on an existing work schedule I want to repeat. I am using the values from that get to populate my template POST request.troubleshootingAfter my first attempts didn’t work, I added WorkItemTitleDisplayText and AssigneeUserKey. They are not added in the documentation, but perhaps they must be added/updated via PUT once the schedule creates. I noticed that the GET request returns a JSON element as a string. I de-escaped it to see if the API expected JSON instead of a string coming back, but I got a 4005 error. The offset integer for the variable portion was passed as a string in the GET request but as an integer in the text portion, so I
New Tax Season Best Practice
We started using Karbon (actually IPM powered by Karbon) in June for our clients on extension and our ongoing accounting clients. For the tax work - we used the Proconnect templates and imported the tax returns from ITO. We are in the process of updating all the tax templates now that we had the ability to work with the system. And that leads to my questions about best practices.Some of the template details will change for us year to year as we plan to have clients click off client request tasks regarding that year’s due dates and pricing. As such we don’t plan on setting up repeating work for annual tax returns. I am curious if setting up work for each year’s tax return is a better idea than having to update the repeating client work each year. It seems about the same level of effort to me, but I just wanted to see if I may be missing a bigger picture on this. Email Insights and Volume of Emails in Triage
I use Volume of Emails in Triage as a way to monitor if my team is getting through their daily traige. I really push the message that triage should be cleared out daily.Being a leader who tries to lead by example, I make sure that my traige is cleared daily -- with the exception of vacation, I make an effort to clear daily.So I go to check the leaderboard today and I find that I’m leading the pack on the number of emails in triage...92 emails! I can count cleared emails and I know that at no poinit this week have I had 92 emails in a day or even during the entire week. How is this metric being calculated and when is the data polled to update the Insight?
Two Client Requests in same Work Item
Hi. I have a payroll work for one client who needs me to email a payroll slip to one employee. So, I inside one work I want to have one client request, where I send all Payroll to client, and then a second client request to the employee. My question is - if the employee gets the client request and then creates an account, will they see all the client request that are associated with their email, or all client requests that are with that company?
How to see comments/notes on a client task
i sent a client task to someone with some questions. They entered a comment on the client task. How do i now get that information out of Karbon and into my workpapers? I need those notes printed out but i don’t see anyway to print that like i might print an email.
Hourly Rates by Team Member, not Role
At our firm, each team member has his/her own hourly rate depending on their experience and role in the firm. Thus, when the billing feature determines hourly rate based on merely the role that the time was tracked with, this creates an issue for our firm. We might have a “Client Manager” role for tasks, but two client managers at our firm might have very different hourly rates. Our *hopefully* temporary workaround for this limitation is as follows - We created special roles in Karbon for each team member. For example, we would have “Time: John Doe” and “Time: Jane Smith” in addition to the normal roles such as client manager, bookkeeper, etc. These custom roles have the correct hourly billing rates.We assign tasks using the standard roles (client manager, bookkeeper, etc.), but every time entry is made with the role set to that person’s custom role. This is a little cumbersome, and it also is prone to team members erroneously creating time entries using the wrong role, which would thr
My Week sorted by Status
I am finding that in My Week some of the work that has the same status is showing up under duplicated statuses. The work is not duplicated, but some work is showing up under the status in one section and some with the same status in another section. Any thoughts as to why this is happening?
Adding Assigned Work to My Week
I would love when I am assigned a work project which then shows up in my triage to be able to then add it to my work week. That way I can take the final step to working out of my work week instead of living through filtered Work Projects in the “Work” tab. This would allow me to map out exactly what work I need to get done and when during my week. As well as make it easy to add these work items as time slots in my calendar. I like the My Week tab but as it is currently implemented is too limiting. During the tax season I am managing work projects not emails or notes which is what is currently in My Week.

My Week Working on Now and no Tasks Assigned
I am the only individual assigned as the Assignee of work. Colleague’s will have tasks assigned. Once their tasks are complete or reassigned to someone else, the item in My Week for them is moved to Done.Frustratingly it appears back in their My Week when I or someone else who has tasks starts working on the work item, even when they have no more tasks assigned.Is this really how My Week is setup to function? It is creating a lot of extra work to identify in their My Week and keep moving it out. New staff are not as familiar with Karbon and it takes a lot of hand holding to ensure they identify there are no tasks assigned to them and that they need to keep moving items out of their My Week to done when there are none assigned.Thank you in advance.
Multiple email addresses in one account
Can I have my Karbon account linked to more email addresses than one?We want to add a central email@example.com email address.Is there a way of linking my firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com accounts so I will receive emails for both accounts in my triage? Also, when sending emails out, could I pick which account I want it to be sent from?
Employee Personal Emails in Contacts
Hello! We onboard our employees using a workflow we created. Often times their personal email is attached to the workflow given the communications are pre-employment. Some of our staff is having their personal emails show up in other colleagues contacts. Has anyone had this happen? Do you know why this happened? Should the staff that keeps being shown their colleagues personal email just archive that contact? Any input is appreciated as we have not run into this before.
