OK! You may have heard of the Accounting Leaders Podcast? Or you may not have. Doesn’t matter! Either way, this might be of interest to you, our esteemed Karbon customer.I’m looking for a partner or director of a firm to come on the podcast with an interesting or exciting or different or beloved client of yours. This client should be doing amazing things in the world. They might have grown a successful retail business or they could be saving the planet or curing cancer. The point is that their story must be interesting. What’s also important is your relationship with this client. I really want to hear from them what you mean to them as a client of your firm and what they mean to you. The journey that you have been on together is what really matters. If you have clients that come to mind, then I would love to hear from you. Reach out to me here or at stuart@ you know the rest! And yes - if we feature you on the podcast, I’ll get you some Airpods!
Question for the community: I’m implementing a sort of response time service level agreement where certain levels of service have quicker responses. Has anyone implemented this in their firm?If so, have you implemented something in Karbon to manage this? If so, interested in sharing? 😅
Is it possible to assign to a Team instead of just to a Colleague? We have a few different Teams, for a mix of Client Teams, Department Teams etc. and it would be helpful if emails or tasks could be assigned to the Team as a whole instead of the individual (to start). This process happens already in some cases using the Team Tag. However, would work better with our processes if tasks or Work could be assigned to a Team (think repeat work/task creation) then can be assigned to the individual from here.
We are building out some automation in our firm with Python and the Karbon API and we are a bit stuck… We are creating blank Work items, ideally without using a template, and want to add a variable number of tasks to that Work item. However, it’s not readily apparent in the API documentation how to add a task under a Work item. Does anybody have any experience with this that can point me in the right direction? Or, is this simply a case where we need to accomplish this by calling Work templates and molding our automation to fit what we can accomplish with tickets? Thanks!
Hello Karbon community! I’m curious what your best practices when employee roles change and you need to transfer profiles to another. How do you do this without losing data. Some of our roles are tied to more general named emails for said department. However sometimes this changes. We also use aliases as well, but I’m still unsure if this is best practice for managing the firm’s Karbon instance.
Is it possible to perform a bulk change to the Create Work field in repeating work items? For example, I have 400+ work items that will be triggered into creation on 10/15 as the create work is currently set to 6 months before work start date. I would like to bulk change this to 3 Months before work start date (ideally 4 or 5, however not a choice available).Or is this something that could only be done on the back-end by Karbon support?t/y
I am trying to prevent clients from uploading items to my old portal. However, they often times need a secure way to send me a file that has nothing to do with a Work item or a Client Request. The Karbon Portal does not have a section for clients to upload. What have you all found as the best fix?Bottom line is, I do not want clients doing things outside my Karbon EcoSystem. :)
If a work item is created and you forget to add the budget before setting up the repeat period, why won’t Karbon update the budget when you edit the repeat? I’m finding that whenever I go to edit to add the budget estimate, it will not carry over. The only thing that carries over is time worked on the task. Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong if so? Thanks so much!Amanda Lampi
why can’t i get a zap to pull a project from Karbon? If i create a project in Karbon, there is no way to run a zap to pull that data from Karbon and then create an external list in Excel or some other program of all projects that i have.more and more i’m getting very frustrated with karbon.
Is anyone else having issues where searching for a work item in triage (e.g., trying to attach an email thread to a work item) doesn’t work? Most of the time I try to add an email to a work item the item doesn’t show up -- I just get a blank search area.I reached out to support and they acknowledged this is a problem on their end, but it’s been 3 weeks now and no resolution. This is crippling the highest value tool Karbon has to offer. As you can see, it’s not returning a ‘no results found for…’ message, rather, I get this:[Karbon Search Error]
I’ve just brought on a new tax preparer and have him set up in Karbon. However, I have about 100+ clients that have already signed engagement letters via Ignition and have those work templates already created with me as the preparer. Is there a way to quickly bulk assign a bunch of them to him? (Updating the work template should fix it going forward, but looking to avoid manually assigning each client to him)
Hi Everyone, George from Karbon here 👋.I’m conducting a little survey on how people are feeling about social networking - especially twitter and their plans for tweeting in 2023. If you have an account. I’d appreciate a vote in the 👉 poll 👈 If not, I’d still be interested to hear you take on the state of social networking, how twitter’s acquisition affects your plans (if at all) and what you’re planning for 2023 in the social space. All the best.G
I have close to 200,000 cleared emails now! My Outlook mailbox is starting to get full and now I have a question I never thought I would have to worry about. If I delete the emails from the Archive folder in Outlook do I lose them in Karbon? If so, what is the fix to lower my usage in Outlook?
