Associating existing People and Organization contacts
We have a person contact for their personal tax stuff.We also have an org already in our system owned by someone else.That personal contact buys the org.How do we now associate the existing personal contact with the existing org contact?Follow up question, and really at the heart of the matter, how does one create a Zapier task to create both a personal contact and an org contact at the same time and have them be associated with one another?
Calendar Integration question
Hi, I see on the Karbon release notes that Calendar Integration has launched?But I can;t see anywhere in myweek to ‘Connect to Calendat’It takes less than 30 seconds to set up the integration. Simply navigate to My Week and click on ‘Connect calendar’ and sign in to your calendar provider. Am I just jumping the gun or do I have to do anything to activate this feature?Thanks
Document Management Systems
We currently use Right Networks to host our tax software. (Drake). Then we have Karbon and Liscio that are cloud based products. We are looking for a document management system. What is the bested route to go cloud based or Right Networks approved. We are a small accounting (under 10 people) Not sure where to start looking. What do you use.
How do we make our default work status "Planned" rather than Ready to Start? In Automaters I have set a new task status to Planned when created, and have turned off the automator that changes work from Planned to In Progress when it reaches its start date. But new created jobs just start as Ready to Start.
When I put notes in a tag someone how can they see it in the task instead of just the Triage
I am leaving notes like this for my Accounting Supervisor but when she goes to the task its not open like this it’s closed. Is there a better way to leave notes in the monthly task where it shows when you open the monthly task?
Unable to edit timesheet entries
I have been working on setting up Time & Budgets for our firm. There seems to be a problem with the timesheet approval process. When a colleague submits their timesheet for approval, I am not able to edit their timesheet entries. The How To Instructions specifically say that you should be able to do that. MyWeek Best Practices
My week is very divisive, and each member of our firm has different levels of success when utilizing it. Do other firms allow employees to use their My Week in a way that makes the most sense to them, or monitor usage so it’s the same throughout the firm? Ex. Some people put all their work for Today in Working on Now while others take it a few tasks at a time. Only wondering because when you go to check colleague’s week or share tasks within a work item with someone, “working on now” can still be a gray area. Want to see if there’s a standard use for it common between firms that use karbon!
8879 - Karbon "Client Task"
Has anyone in the Karbon Community figured out a good method of sending a KBA encrypted 8879 via the Karbon client task? The firm I work for is finds the client task function very useful, and like most, we are trying to find ways to streamline our procedures and limit our tech stack when able. Any thoughts???
I know the idea of Karbon is that everyone “owns” their email/tasks, but I have got to get out of everyone emailing me as the head of the company. I am going to explore ticketing systems, so I am curious to see if anyone is using those and how they can work with Karbon. I have a list of websites to check out, but I will prioritize a system that someone already is using with Karbon. I like Karbon for the workflow, so hoping to find something that works with it, so I don’t have to switch to a whole new system and recreate everything.
What are some best practices for OneDrive integration?Our firm was excited to hear about the launch, but we haven't found a practical way to use it without making folders that directly correlate for each work item.Of course, some integrate naturally now, but not most. How have you been using it?
Task due dates
As it currently stands, in the monthly Karbon work, I can select a specific date that my weekly tasks are due each month, but there is no choice to prompt our due dates to land on a certain day of the week each month. I’d like to be able to select a due date that would be something like, “Due on the second Tuesday of each month.” Because we currently don’t have this type of selection, I’m having to go into my new monthly work each month to reorganize the due dates. I’d love to see a change here. Is this in the works?
Why does the client task space display our internal Karbon work title?
We are finally beginning the process of integrating client tasks into some of our work. When we run tests, I can see that the client will have view of our internal work labeling when they go to check off their tasks. Our work labeling is not short nor sweet and I’d rather not field client questions asking what the work title means since we use shorthand to distinguish between work/department/timing, etc. I’d also love to not have to change our existing Karbon work labeling structure just to add client tasks to our toolbox. Has anyone found any workarounds? Cheers,Emily
Printing Templates or Work
We are planning a review of our templates and looking to update as needed. Given that there are multple staff involved - it would be create if we could print or download templates into a spreadsheet and make our updates off line before adding online.Is there a way to print templates?
Automating My Week
My company has been successfully using To do for years, all of our templates and automators are built around it. Now it seems that My Week will be replacing To do and I am trying to figure out My Week but I can’t seem to wrap my head around it.First, when all of the tasks are completed and a work is even in the Completed status, why doesn’t it automatically move to Done? This seems like an unneeded step. I understand if all my tasks are done but if the work isn’t done it shouldn’t move, but if the entire work is done?Then, there seems to be no automation for it, if an automator triggers a task to be due this week, it doesn’t move the work to My Week, it just stays where it is. This might be fine for recurring work but for tax work where I am often waiting on clients it’s a problem. I have automators that make my tasks due when a client completes their task list but it stays in To Plan until I manually move it. Also, there should be different views. I am starting a trial of LinkedIn Learning next week to see if it meets our needs, but I’m looking to give our staff a baselineIntentionAll staff trained the same way without drawing resources form existing staff members.RoadblocksIn the past, staff training is sometimes really good if we are organized and the people with the knowledge are available to train. Help trying to setup title for a weekly work item
I am using a template which is called “Weekly Accounting”I can’t remember how we set it up so the title includes the date and it changes every week. That’s what a current one for one of our clients looks likeI use the template then I change the title but I can’t get the title to include the applicable week.Dan
