Copy and paste client tasks to new templates

I am a newbie here and trying to avoid a truck load of work…

PLEASE tell me there is a way to merge two templates.

I have a individual tax return template and a business return template but I need both of those together to have a sole trader template.

I thought it would be logical to be able to copy client requests and paste them in new templates - ??

Please help me 🙃

You can’t exactly merge, but can:

  1. Create a dummy work item from template 1
  2. Create a dummy work item from template 2
  3. Go to whichever template has less sections
  4. Using the … menu button on each section, copy the section to the dummy work item with the more sections
  5. Once all copied, arrange sections on dummy work item
  6. Once all setup, save dummy work item as sole trader template

If it’s all sections you want, follow steps 1 and 2 from @SamG, and then use either Import or Copy tasks from the main menu (depending on which way you’re going!), and it will transfer all sections at once! Then proceed with steps 5 and 6 above.
