Client task triggering the Work item to go from Planning to In Progres

We use automators to set due dates on tasks to be a certain number of days after the work item gets triggered as Ready to Start once the start date occurs. If we add a client task prior to the work start date, the work item changes to in progress and therefore our automators don’t kick off for the due date tasks.
Is there any work-around? We like sending some client tasks ahead of time to prepare for month-end, and it’s best to keep them in the same work item they relate to.

Hi @Steven Ball, I’ve never played around with sending client tasks before the start date, so I’ve never seen the work item kick into In-Progress.

Is it possible that this global automation is set to “On” for your firm and is kicking the work over to in-progress?

@max Perfect! I’ve toggled that setting to be off. That should do it!
