Has anyone figured out a way to add accounting details to a contact in Karbon through the use of a form?

We’re not using this area enough - possibly because it’s a bit buried in the contact details screen - but we would love to have new clients fill out a secure form that populates the data in that area.

From the Details tab of the contact record
After clicking on “Add accounting Details” - so much opportunity to add data!

Hi Allison!

What kind of form did you have in mind? Are you trying to gather this from Microsoft or Google forms or something like typeform and then have it automatically input into this part of the cartman contact details section?

Hi @max,

We use Typeform to gather information from prospective clients but if there’s another tool that would integrate with Karbon we’d be happy to switch.

Would love to have a second form to gather more details from new clients after they sign on with us.

Yes, I’m envisioning a form that we could link to the fields in the Karbon contact accounting details section.  Would save having someone on our team have to re-type everything into Karbon.

That’s an interesting idea. I’m not sure if the accounting details are accessible via the API. I haven’t tested it. We are keen to use those fields more often as well, but we have a live phone call with onboarding clients and fill it in all manually at this point.

Do you think you could trust the client-entered data? We have found that they often don’t even know their legal business names and have resorted to looking them up ourselves on the state websites. Sometimes their past tax returns don’t even have the correct legal names, lol.

That’s a fair point, lol.  We’ve seen this as well.  I’d be interested to know how others populate this info.
